Victoria's POV

"Carter..." I whispered breathlessly. He's here...Seriously? You've gotta be kidding me.

"Victoria. So the rumors are true. You were coming." He said with his smirk and I smiled back.

Who is he? You ask? Ex-boyfriend? no. Let's just say an old fling....meaning, Kol and Carter...hate each other...

Can you believe that we still became friends after I told him I couldn't love him? Actually, we're not just friends. We're bestfriends...I know I have a lot of bestfriends, but he is on the 1st spot on my "Guy Bestfriends list" yep. I have that.

I noticed how awkward our position is and cleared my throat. "Uhh...do you mind getting off me?" I asked slyly.

He chuckled "Sorry..just happy to see you.." He said and helped me up.

Kol's POV

Victoria went upstairs and moments later, we heard a thump. "What's that?" Elena asked griping my hand.

"I don't know. We better see.." I told Her and Bekah as we went upstairs.

"What the bloody he-" Rebekah cut herself off. I went over there to see Victoria hugging someone on the hallway he looked...very familliar....

Victoria finally noticed our presence "Oh! Bekah, Kol...you remember, Carter, right...?" She asked awkwardly

Carter. Of course...how could I forget that bastard. I approached him. "Of course, Glad to see you again, mate" I said as I shook his hand slightly squeezing it.

There was tension in the room until Vic cleared her throat and I let go of his hand. "Um. Not that I don't like you being here, but what are you doing here?" Bekah asked raising an eyebrow.

He smirked before answering. "I heard you were coming here again. So, I figured why not? It's been a long time since I last saw all of you. 900 years or more, correct?" He asked Vic and She nodded.

"Yeah, 900+ years..." She replied smiling slightly. "You must be the latest doppelgänger" He said looking at Elena.

"Yeah I-" I cut her off. "Yes she is. Elena, darling. Look around and choose any room you'd like for us." I said as she hesitantly nodded and left.

Carter looked at me and at my hand confused. "Where's the big rock an you're finger, sweetheart?" He asked me and my eyes widened.

"I..uh..didn't get merried..." I said looking down. "I'm seeing someone else...Elena" Kol said. Carter nodded and Kol glared at him.

There was an awkward silence until I spoke. "Um...do you wanna take a walk? So you could catch up on what's been happening for the past 9 centuries?" I asked him.

"I would like that.." He said smiling as I smiled back. He put a hand on my waist and we sped out.

As we reached the woods, he set me down and we walked in silence for a few moments when he asked "Why?" I looked at him confused.
