We tried to exchange our ticket at the booth but the man wouldn’t let us. We had no choice but to buy another one. I didn’t have much money left and didn’t know if I had enough to pay for both if us.

It was £5.15 one way for each, the problem was.. I only had £10.29 left. Them drinks were expensive. And we may or may not have brought some little things on the way back to the train station.

I can’t believe we were 1p short. We asked the man if it was okay. I mean seriously, it was only 1p. he obviously said no and told us to leave. The only thing we could do was.. to look for 1p.

“are you sure we can do this?” Ryan asked not thinking it was a good idea.

“it’s not stealing” I said as I reached into the fountain where people put money.

“you’re taking other people’s money”

“hay, it’s their choice to throw it away, it’s my choice to use it to get home. Its only 1p”

“fine” he said looking around.

As I reached into the fountain I grabbed a copper coin that said 1p on and went to pay for the ticket. We got the ticket for the time 4:40 and it was 4:37 so we basically ran for it. Well I did. And I pushed him along with me. It was quite exhilarating actually.

We were so close to the train. Platform 5. We made it. We were going home.

Out of breath from all the running I sat down on the chair I could feel a weird sensation in my chest. It was like it was burning. I took no notice of it and just started talking to Ryan.

“you okay?” he asked.

“yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” I asked back to him.

“well your sitting there scrunching your chest?” he questioned.

“yeah I’m okay” I answered taking my hand away from my chest.

“you shouldn’t worry about me, you’re the one who you need to worry about.”

“I’m great. Honestly”

We sat in silence for a minute before a question popped into my head.

“what did Paul say on the phone. What was the emergency?” I asked remembering that we had to hurry back to the house.

“the nurses are at the house”

“the nurses that helped with your leg?” I made clear.

“yeah, they said that they have a cure?” he said looking unimpressed.

“what do you mean?”

“I don’t know, that’s why they said to come back so we could talk about it.”

“oh well I hope it goes well”

“thanks” he said as he smiles. “I like your skirt by the way” he continued.

“thanks, its Katie’s” I answered

“I know, she wears it a lot. Looks better on you though” he said looking down.

“thanks” I said as I giggled and looked out the window. All the stations were so small, they were out in the middle of nowhere. The station we had to get off was bigger and busier. Which helped I guess?

It wasn’t long until we reached out stop that we had to get off I prepared Ryan and pushed him out the door when they opened.

We walked down the same similar road that links to out treehouse. It would be so nice to just hang out there but we had to get home. Ryan’s leg was about to be fixed.
