In the morning, I woke up to really loud birds chirping in my ear. I had just remembered that I had slept outside all night because the house was irritating me. I wonder if they have realised that I was gone yet. I doubt it.
Ryan was due back today so I was excited but I didn’t want to leave and return to the house. It was cold outside and my blanket wasn’t really doing much to keep me warm. I was scared out here, but I was scared in there. Where ever I went, I was scared. I don’t know anywhere I would feel safe. Maybe in mum’s arms?
I felt a tear starting to form in my eye so I tried to take my mind off it. I kept thinking about Ryan, but all I could see when I closed my eyes was him lying in that hospital bed hurt. I felt so bad from all the things I had done to him that I just wanted to hug him and say I was sorry.
I felt like sorry wasn’t enough? I felt like I needed to do something to really make up for it. The only problem is I don’t know much about him. I don’t know what he likes because we haven’t really spent that much time together.
Then I remembered the files in the office. They have everything about people. That should tell me exactly what he likes. The only problem is that it’s forbidden. No one is allowed in there unless you are called in there. I sat there until I thought of a plan and then I remembered Lucie. She was friendly and all of the care workers liked her so she could distract them for me.
I decided that this would be perfect but I would have to tell her everything. I didn’t want to face up to all those people though so I had to go round the house and climb through her window.
I got up from the place I was staying and left all my things there as I knew I would be back. I ran to the gate that surrounded the house and slipped through a gap. I then targeted my window and followed the house round to find her window. Once I found it, I had to create a path so I could easily climb up. The only problem was that there was nothing to hold on to. There were a few odd bricks that stuck out so I put my feet on them. I came up to a window on the first floor but her room was on the second floor so I had to go around the window so no one saw me. Once I got up to her room window, I tried lifting it up but it was really hard from the outside but I managed it. I pushed myself up to see more of her room and searched round. She wasn’t in there? She must be in the games room but I’m guessing a lot of people would be in there so I couldn’t go in there.
I nosed through her room as it was so amazing. The amount of stuff that was in here was incredible. It was like a dream room. It was sea themed and had glow in the dark fish stuck on the walls and fake seaweed going along the skirting board. Her walls were painted blue with lighter stages of blue along the top to look like waves. Her bed had shells along the frame with bed sheets that had mermaids on.
It was so different to my room. Because I had only just arrived, my walls were plain white and I just had a few boxes with clothes as I didn’t have much stuff.
I looked around in amazement and wished that my room would someday look like this.
I heard someone coming up the stairs so I hid in the walk in wardrobe that she had near her bookshelf that had ‘The Fantasies of the Sea’ series all lined up in order.
It was her. She opened the door and walked over to her bed closing the door behind her. She walked over to where I was hiding and turned on the light.
“Aaaahh” she screamed as she saw me standing there in between her shoes that were on the right and her dresses that were on the left.
“Sshh” I said going over to her slowly holding my finger up against my lips.
“What are you doing in my room and how did you get in?” she asked really loudly
“Look please be quite, I don’t want people to know that I’m here. I’m going to leave soon but I need your help”
“Paul, Sam and Ryan have all been searching for you for hours, where were you?”
“I can’t tell you where I was, it’s a secret, anyway, will you help me?”
“It depends what it is?” she said.
“It’s to make it up to Ryan”
“Well why don’t you go and show yourself to him?”
“Because I lied to him and I need to really make it up to him but I don’t know what he likes so I was going to break into the office to see his records but I need your help. Will you?”
“Fine. What do I have to do?”
“Just distract them whilst I get into the office”
“By doing what?”
“I don’t know, put on a show. You have a guitar don’t you? Play something.”
“Okay”
Lucie picks up her guitar and makes sure no one is coming so I can come out too. We make our way downstairs and we see Paul and Ryan talk.
“Where else could she be?” Paul asked
“I think I might have an idea” Ryan replied
“Where?”
“Don’t worry I’ve got this. I will be back soon” Ryan replied as he hopped out the door.
“Oh no he is going to where I was!” I whispered to Lucie
“So?” She whispered back.
“I’ve left all my stuff there so when he gets there he is going to see all of my stuff but I won’t be there.”
“What if he calls the police?” Lucie panicked.
“I have to go back and get my stuff”
Then I ran back upstairs and climbed out Lucie’s window. I slid under the broken fence and ran.
