After getting lunch with Hannah, I drive her back to her car that's still parked on campus. Her phone dings and she gets a weird look on her face.
"Your brother just invited me to that dinner tomorrow." She says.
"Wait seriously?" I ask, and she shows me the text. "Okay. Haz is totally into you."
"Really?" She smiles. Awww! She likes him too!
"Yes. He wouldn't bring just any girl around." I say.
I park my car next to hers, and she gives me a hopeful smile.
"Good luck finding someone to go along with this." She says.
"Thanks. I need it." I laugh.
She gets out of the car, and I drive off onto the road, thinking of who I could possibly ask to pretend to be Tom's girlfriend. I feel like in a situation like this he'd normally just ask me, but obviously that's not going to work.
Then it hits me. The perfect idea.
I walk into the house and see Haz, Tom, and Travis standing around the room talking and drinking.
"Hey did you get the thing?" Haz asks, thinking Tom doesn't know about the pill.
"Yeah and I delivered it." I say.
"What?! How?" He asks wide eyed.
"I knew who it was." I giggle. "Good choice."
"What's going on?" Travis asks.
"Nothing." Haz says quickly.
"I'm gonna head to my room." I say, excusing myself to leave. I pull out my phone and text Tom.
Savannah: come here.
It takes a minuet before he texts back.
Tom: Sav we cant do it while other people are here it's too obvious and you're too loud😂
I roll my eyes at the text, he's so dumb.
Savannah: not for that you idiot. Just come here.
Soon my bedroom door opens slowly, and he walks in, shutting it behind him.
"What's up?" He asks.
"Okay so I figured out a date for you tomorrow." I say.
"Already! Who is it? Is she from your class?" He asks.
"Hear me out.." I start. "We hire a hooker-"
"Savannah!" He whisper yells at me.
"It's okay! She'll be in on it! It will be fun!" I say.
"You are fucking insane you know that?" He laughs.
"Have a better idea?" I ask.
"No.. but I didn't think you'd be the one to think up hiring a hooker." He says.
"I'm just that brilliant." I say jokingly.
"Yeah you sure are, darling." He shakes his head with a laugh.
I can't help but wonder why he's even going to the lengths of making Haz think he has a girlfriend. Why isn't he just cutting this off and moving on to the next girl like he always does?
"Well.. I'll make the call. This should be fun." I say.
________
After chatting with several different girls, I found one that is 100% down with our plan and is super excited to do this. She seems really chilled out and fun, this is going to be hilarious.
I feel a little weird, going to the dinner alone while both of the guys have a date, even if Tom's date is fake. I still do myself up though, no hurt in looking cute even if it's just for myself.
There's a knock on my door, and it opens.
"Almost ready?" Haz asks.
"Yeah, be out in a second." I nod.
"So, I invited Travis to come. Since you know, you're the only one alone.. thought you two could get to know each other." He says.
"Are you serious?" I laugh.
"Yeah, you seemed into him and he called you cute so." He shrugs.
The doorbell rings, sounding through the house.
"That's him!" He says.
I love how happy dates, relationships, and all the mushy gushy romance stuff makes Haz, he has hope most people don't.
He goes to open the door, and I quickly walk into Tom's room, not expecting to see him shirtless. I stare for a minute, making him laugh lightly.
"Like what you see sweetheart?" He asks.
"You're gross." I roll my eyes.
"If you roll your eyes at me one more time I'm going to deny you for a week." He states.
"Deny me?" I ask, not understanding.
"It's so cute how innocent you are." He says, slipping a shirt on.
"Hope should be here any minute so let's go out." I say.
"Sure it's not going to be hard on you? Seeing me with another girl?" He teases.
"I should be fine, I'll be distracted by Travis." I tease back and his brows scrunch together.
"The fuck?" He says.
"Yeah Haz is trying to set us up." I laugh.
"Looks like I have some competition then. It's alright, I never loose." He comments, walking past me towards the living room.
Competition? For what? I'm not hooking up with Travis..
I follow him out, seeing Travis standing in the middle of the room with Haz. He's dressed well, and his hair is perfectly done, although it doesn't beat Tom's curls. Not much can beat Tom's curls.
There's a knock on the door, and I walk over to open it. A girl with dark brown curly hair, and bright eyes stands in the doorway, a glimmering smile with perfect teeth graces her face.
"Hope?" I ask.
"Yes." She says.
"Cool, I'm Savannah, thank you for doing this." I say.
"Please, this is going to be so fun!" She says excitedly, making me laugh.
I invite her inside, and Tom looks over to see her. I swear I see his eyes light up instantly, how could they not? She's absolutely stunning..
"Hello darling." He greets her, giving her a hug.
"Hi baby." She says happily. Yep. She's gonna kill this.
Another knock on the door tears my attention away, knowing that Hannah is here.
"Hey!" I smile, pulling her inside.
Haz walks over, and I wiggle my brows at her before excusing myself so they can chat.
This leaves me awkwardly standing with Travis. Don't get me wrong he's beautiful, but I'm on a mission tonight of making sure Tom doesn't fuck up and I don't have time to entertain Travis.
