Cherry's POV 22

Lost soul. Land. C-c-control. So-oul. Drea-eams-s-sss.

An eerie voice echoed in my head. It was strange. Ever since I had that strange dream with the creepy dead dude, it has been following me around everywhere. The voice, I mean. Like...a paparazzi or some stalker or...OOO some reporter who is trying to get the details on a new story and whispers random stuff in my ear to get me to act!

Anyways, I didn't have time for this. I had to go to medical training. I checked my watch to see what time it was, only to remember that the Stolls literally stole it from me in my sleep and dunked it in horse scat...that was one of the few things I had from home too. Curse them. Why did I choose a bunk RIGHT NEXT TO THEM IN THE CABIN!!! Anyways, I was just going to assume I was late and started running to the Big House for medical training.

For some reason, today, I decided to try to take a shortcut through the cabins and around the Big House from the back, but I skidded to a stop. There. I saw something glowing. Land of dre-e-e-screams-amsss. Warm wind surrounded me and led me in the direction of the shortcut. I looked around, but no one else seemed to be feeling the wind.

I approached If there was one thing I learned from horror movies, it was always to go to the creepy source to root out the problem. Thanks It and Annabelle! I crept towards the secluded part of the Big House and found a door that felt oddly familiar. Too familiar. I opened it and crept in. There was so much strange, random stuff in here. "The feather of a griffin." Isn't that some zebra bird? Or an animal bird of some sort? I looked around. "The remains of "The tooth of the Trojan Horse." Huh? I looked closer. From Disneyland 1990? What? Ok, that was enough exploring for today. Creeped out, I began to leave the room when all of a sudden, my body couldn't move. It slowly started to draw me to the dark side of the room. ZWIP. Eyes in the darkness lit up.

"Who are you?" I yelled, trying to find out why I couldn't move.

"The speaker of riddles. The lover of mystery. The escort to the beginning of their history," it mumbled.

I was so confused. "Who-what now? History? Isn't that like the olden days with cowboys and-"

"A party of 3 shall venture west

The dreams of demigods will not lay rest

The matriarch of a lost soul

Has already started to take control

They'll make their way to the land of dreams

The land of wonder, the land of screams

And in the end, the box will land

Far away in an unexpected hand"

All of a sudden I had control of my body again and sprinted to the door. Curse medical training, I needed some warm blankets. I ran to Cabin 11 and stayed there. Huddled.

"Hey camper," Allison starts as she walks in. Noticing my definite sorrow, she walked up. "What happened? I saw you run to the cabin?"

"Um Kaya." I asked. "What do you do when a ghost is haunting you and wants to suck, not half your blood, but all of it," I whimpered between sobs.

"What! Ok what happened!" Allison stated, concerned.

"I just went to take a shortcut to Medical Training because I was late and all of a sudden I couldn't move and a 'speaker of riddles' haunted the bejesus out of me," I said, full of sobbing now.

"Wait, in the Big House? Riddles? What did she say to you? Repeat it to me exactly!" Allison urged.

"She said something about being the speaker of riddles and lover of mystery and something about history. She rhymed. And then she said this:

A party of 3 shall venture west

The dreams of demigods will not lay rest

The matriarch of a lost soul

Has already started to take control

They'll make their way to the land of dreams

The land of wonder, the land of screams

And in the end, the box will land

Far away in an unexpected hand

"OMG CHERRY! YOU JUST GOT A PROPHECY! FOR A QUEST!" Allison yelled.

"...why would I want that?" I said.

"Come on! Let's get to Chiron," Allison stated enthusiastically. "Nothing to worry about Cherry! This is perfectly normal-of a sort!"

I began to wonder what I got myself into when I came to camp. If being stalked by ghosts was a normal here...

"Chiron! Chiron! Cherry got a quest!" Allison yelled.

"Woah woah there. First years do not usually get a quest. Calm down," he assured.

"No! Cherry really did! Cherry! Say the prophecy!"

"Uh, ok?" After chanting the prophecy, I tentatively stared at Chiron. He looked very confused.

"Well, it does sound like a quest. This is most peculiar that you girls have a quest, being first-year campers. I suggest taking someone experienced for your third quester."

"What? We are going?" I stammered, seeing Kaya cheering behind me.

"Yes, and you should take someone who has experience as a demigod. I suggest," Chiron looked around, "Malcolm!"

"Um Chiron, what are you dragging my by the arm for?" Malcolm asked.

"You will be going on a quest-"

"Yes!" Malcolm cheered.

"With Allison and Cherry." Chiron continued. Malcolm's face immediately drooped.

"Don't forget to pack up later, you are leaving tomorrow morning."
