My phone was blowing up. I was lying in bed, dreading to go to hockey practice on a Saturday morning. We always had a team groupchat over text, which means everyone from the team was in it. Including Michael.

Michael: aw lukey is finally awake.

Calum: Lol. Don't you dare be late to practice Luke.

Ashton: hahaha where is this "Lukey" coming from? watever it is I ship it.

Michael: ;) Lukey we have been accepted.

Me: I won't be late.

That was all I said. Michael is such a dick, he knows exactly what to say to make me feel uncomfortable in front of my team.

Michael: kk babe.

WHAT THE FUCK!? Just because I'm bisexual doesn't mean I have to like every guy who knows about it (the whole school, because of Michael). I know exactly what he wants. To make me mad. So I guess I will just.. play along. This doesn't bother me at all.

Me: anything for you,, Mikey.

I smirked. This could be fun, messing with him. Maybe that's why he messes with me in school any chance he gets. Other then hockey Michael, he has like 3 other sides to him that I have witnessed, there's dick Michael, flirty Michael, and punk Michael. Then there's that slim chance that you get them all at once, thrown at you from across the room. But if you want to see flirty Michael in full action, you can catch him at 11am under the bleachers with any random girl off the debate team, or drama club, or mathletes, the list goes on.

Ashton: aw, romance.

I hope Ashton knows this is a joke. I guess i'll just tell him at practice, along with Calum who usually can't take a hint either.

-----

I guess Ashton and Calum find my hatred towards Michael hilarious. Practice kinda sucked today, everyone was messing around and no one ever takes me seriously as the team captain. I don't really mind though, because practice was fun for once, with Michael constantly cracking inappropriate jokes across the ice, it makes it feel so carefree. I guess Michael isn't that bad when he's away from his usual crowd.

Calum: practice was really fun. Michael ur amazing at hockey!

Ashton: and joke telling lol

Michael: thanks :) Lukey would know a lot about that

Ashton: would he now? ::)))

Me: wat ._.

I honestly didn't know what was coming next, or what to say at all. It seems like all the guys love Michael on the team, though. Then I got a private message from Michael. I was so confused at first. It read:

Michael: Hi Luke.

That's right. He didn't even call me lukey. I smiled. My smile quickly faded, though, as thoughts raced through my head. Why would he want to text me.. in private? Is this one of his jokes? Is he making fun of me? I decided to play it cool.

Me: hey.

Michael: sorry about making fun of you all the time. Honestly.

Me: seriously?

Michael: yeah, i have this thing where i put other people down to feel better about myself.

Me:

Michael: youre actually a pretty great guy, u kno?

Me: thanks. But why r doing this now?

Michael: Ive begun to realize how much you don't deserve it. I can't help myself sometimes I guess. Ik how much u hate me. I hate being hated more than I hate being looked down on.

Me: o

What the hell was I supposed to say? Why is he suddenly feeling so comfortable with talking to me? Questions started rapidly shooting in my head about the mysterious Michael Clifford that I hated so much but quite honestly knew nothing about. He wasn't answering me. He's probably embarrassed. I would know because this is how he had made me feel hundreds of times before. Do I comfort him? Do I want to start a friendship with this douche? Or I thought he was a douche.

Me: it's all good.

I didn't want to really expose myself, or put myself in a vulnerable spot. I guess that is as simple as it gets.

Michael: cool :-)

Michael: you don't mind me calling you Lukey, right?

Me: Haha. As long as I can call you Mikey.

Michael: ok lukey

Me: ok mikey
