The twins and I hadn't talked much. We made it by with minimal conversation. Maverick left early for his dad's place leaving Asher behind. My dad had given him some tips on how to protect himself if Allen went after him since his timing for visitations seemed off.
I was woken up early on Saturday morning to Finn calling me, "Dude, no, it's too early."
"Party, now."
"What're you talking about?"
"I'm picking you're ass up for a party... right now."
"What party?"
"Hing Hay Park, It's actually more of a get-together."
"China Town?"
"We could go to CHOP."
"What?"
"The police free zone on Capitol hill- Fuck Kova wake up and get dressed I'll be there in 15."
"Let me ask my-"
Finn hung up and I looked around my empty room. I made eye contact with Maverick's empty bed. I was worried about him honestly. He hadn't seen his dad since... well when he almost got killed by him. I didn't have a good feeling about Maverick going there alone but he'd already been there night and hadn't heard anything so I assumed he was okay.
I got in the shower having to shove Maverick and Asher towel in the dirty laundry and hunt for a clean towel. When I got out I stared at my closet for a minute... Normally I'd steal Mavericks tee shirts or Asher sweatpants. But both their clothes were out of my closet. I grabbed the Jeans and the old SPD shirt heading downstairs, "Hey-"
"Kova change you're shirt," My dad told me.
"What? Why? Its clean."
"Just change it baby I don't want you getting hurt."
"Getting hurt? Uh okay."
I changed into a Camino Island tee-shirt and walked back downstairs, "So I was wondering if I can go to little get together with Finn-"
"Where is it?"
"Chinatown..." I said quietly. My dad started laughing, "What?"
"You think those protests were bad? Kova your a white teenage girl going to China Town."
"So?!"
"Kovy, I'd be more comfortable if you just stayed here in town and didn't go into the city."
I wasn't going to contest his opinion, "Fine," I snarled.
"Alright, I gotta go to work. I love you."
"Love you too."
Clara walked into the kitchen, "Hey Kova."
"Hi," I said quietly sitting down at the table to text Finn.
"Maverick says hi," She smiled.
"Cool."
"Sorry I can't go to the party. My dad says no."
"Goody two shoes."
"Shut up, you know my dad doesn't like me going up to China Town."
"Grahams coming with if that makes him feel better."
"He's already gone to work."
"Can't Clara cover for you."
"No, but that does give me an Idea can you pick me up at Kogin and Reyes?"
"Um, yeah sure."
