'Congratulations on your engagement! (ノ≧∀≦)ノ'

It took a few minutes before you could compose yourself enough to type a reply to the shocking message. You weren't able to even finish writing something before you got another string of messages.

'Mistake!

Sorry I made a mistake!

Nevermind that message, I misunderstood something! <(。_。)>

I'm sorry for confusing you! ヾ((●>□<)ノ*'

You went from befuddled to absolutely lost at all the messages and could only write a simple 'Okay' as your reply.

What was that all about? Did he really think Wakatoshi had proposed to you? And how could he have thought that mistakingly?

Did he maybe send the message to the wrong person? Did someone else he knew get engaged?

About ten minutes later you had almost, almost, been able to put the weird happenings behind you when your Line ringtone went off. It was Tendou.

"Hi?" You said, uncertain about what to expect.

"Yeah hey. I uh... I need to tell you something." His voice was uncharacteristically serious. "I promised Wakatoshi I wouldn't tell. But when I consulted someone who is way more versed in the ways of a woman's heart, she told me she would kill me if I didn't tell you."

That must have been his girlfriend, most likely. You remained silent and waited for him to continue.

After a short silence, he did. "When your train left at the station I told Wakatoshi 'If you get married to her, she can stay forever on a spouse visa.'. Then he told me 'I'm already engaged.'. So that's why I sent you that message. But as I started asking him questions, you know like why he hadn't told me and stuff, he said..."

Another pause. "He said?" You asked, your heart beating fast and the color already drained from your face.

Tendou sighed before continuing. "He said, he's not engaged to you. Then he told me not to tell anyone and that he'd 'fix' it. Then he got on a train and was gone."

Both of you didn't know what to say for a whole minute. In the end, it was you who broke the silence as you spoke with a cool, detached voice. "Well, I guess I won't have to bother learning about the working visa anymore."

"Don't you dare give up just like that! I called you so you would at least have a fair chance of fighting. Are you really willing to give all of it up over such a vague reason, without even hearing him out?!" You had never heard Tendou get emotional like this, you knew he cared about Wakatoshi a great deal, but never had you realized how deep their friendship went.

"No, no of course not." You said, on the brink of having an emotional breakdown yourself. "I-" You were interrupted by the announcement of the train's arrival at its first stop, Fukushima. "I'm getting off the train. I'm coming back."

You hurried to gather all your bags and luggage and went to stand near the doors. "Tendou, thank you."

"I'm not staying anywhere near Sendai station, but if you need help give me a call okay? I'll get there as soon as I can." He told you, relief obvious in his voice.

"Thanks, I need to go now." You told him and put away your phone as you prepared to step off the train.

You dragged all your luggage to a different platform, where you now had a fifteen-minute wait for the next shinkansen back to Sendai. You pulled out your phone and called Wakatoshi, but he didn't answer. A minute after you called you did get a message though.
