Kirin lead Kida through the gates and up the stairs of the palace. The doors were tall and opened right when they walked up to them. Kirin walked in front of Kida up to the steps of the throne where the Lord sat awaiting them. "My Lord I have brought back the finest slave from the trade for you." He said with a bow of his head. Kirin moved to the side exposing Kida to his lord. "So the rumors are true." He smirked at Kida. She stiffened under his gaze. "General take her to the chambers next to mine. Amelia was a friend I shall not enslave someone who looks so much like her. She will be a guest for the ball that will be held in 3 days time. What is your name maiden?" The lord asked staring at her. He was young looking and had black hair with silver tuffs above going from the front to the back right above his ears. "Kida. My lord." She said bowing her head. He laughed and waved them both off. Kirin walked down the hall leading her to a room. He entered with her and showed her around to one side of the room was a bed filled with beautiful silk pillows. To one side there was a balcony. To the other there was a vanity with makeup and hair oils. In a cabinet were lavish kimonos. "I must resume my duties I will see you at the ball in three days." He said kissing her gently before closing behind him when leaving. She smiled and walked to the balcony and leaned on the railing looking off into the distance. Lost in thought of being a guest instead of a slave here in the palace relieved her. Her mind wondered on the events of the last few days. A blush flamed on her face as she recalled Kirin and her laying together. The door to her room slid open and she turned to see a woman bowing her head. "Greetings My lady I am Suki I will be your personal servant for the time being." She was a brown haired demoness with pink stripes on her forehead above each eyebrow. Her eyes were a shade of blueish silver. Kida nodded her head at Suki. "I do not need a servant but I do need a guide to navigate through the palace and grounds around it." Suki looked up at her bewildered. Never before had she ever had someone say something like that to her. "Of course my lady." She said with a bow. Kida turned her gaze back to the view from her balcony gesturing for Suki come join her. "Tell me about the palace. The lord and demons who reside here." Kida said with great interest. "Our lord is a very merciful lord and very fair. Our alliance with the western lord has strengthened our lands." She said with a small smile. "The western lands... Lord Sesshomaru?" Kida asked.
"Why yes my lady. You know of lord Sesshomaru?"
"Yes I've met him."
"He's quite handsome isn't he?"
"I have my eyes on another."
"Oh? It isn't General Kirin is it?"
"Indeed."
"Oh so he did it to you also?"
"Also? I dont understand."
Suki sighed frowning "Follow me but be very quiet." Suki led Kida through the palace halls making sure to stop and gather and sprinkling some of the powder to hide their scents. Making their way to the catacombs below the palace grounds. They stopped under the training area. Suki put her finger up to her mouth gesturing for Kida to keep quiet. Laughing erupted from above. The general and soldiers just finished doing their rounds around the palace. Kirin was in Kida's sight. "General you have conquered yet another unsuspecting maiden and quite the beauty this one is." His right hand solider said to him. He smirked devilishly at his men. "Yes quite and she was definitely pure if you know what I mean. So men pay up I have won the bounty." He said disgustingly making obscene jesters for his men to laugh at. Kida's eyes widened. "The bet was for less than ten days how long did it take you this time general?"
"Only six days. She has been the best so far I could barely contain my beast."
"General I think after this I'm going to no longer bet against you." The men cheered and clapped for their general as he stood with his chest out and smirking as he announced his victory. Kida balled her fists and gritted her teeth and her eyes glowed red. Suki quickly covered Kida's eyes and pulled her back through the catacombs. When back walking through the palace Suki looked at Kida who's face was now emotionless and eyes were dark purple. After sliding the door to Kida's room closed threw out her arm making the balcony door and the windows in the room fly open. Suki's eyes widened and she gasped. "My lady please it's happened to all of us who came from the slave trade."
"I should've let him be slaughtered by lord Sesshomaru."
"What?"
"I saved that... that... weasel."
"From lord Sesshomaru?"
"Yes. I should've never had stopped lord Sesshomaru."
"My lady. Get some rest the ball with be upon us in no time. The general will get what's coming to him."
Suki left the room and Kida went out on the balcony. She admired the stars above. Missing home and just wanting to leave and be as far away as possible. Tears slipped down her cheeks. Kida went to her bed and laid down on it quickly falling asleep. Her dream was nothing like the others there wasn't any blurred images and muffled voices it was just silence and the gentle breeze her sitting in her field with the flowers. She heard footsteps behind her and looked over to see who had sat next to her. She awoke to her door sliding open and the sun beaming inside. She stretched and sat up. Suki was waiting for her with a kimono and oils Kida got up and followed her to the bathing room. The day went by quickly and Kida stayed in her room to avoid running into Kirin. She slept peacefully that night with only darkness without a dream. The morning of the ball was here and the lord ordered many servants to ready Kida for the ball. Her body was scrubbed from head to toe and she was dressed in a long kimono that was dark purple  with black along the sleeves and collar, the obi was a dark purple her hair was combed out and left to flow down behind her, red lip stain was applied to her lips and within hours she was ready to attend the ball. From her balcony she could see the lords and ladies flocking into the palace. Five individuals stood out to her as she stood there smiling and watch them as they disappeared into the palace. She spotted Kirin down below also, who locked eyes with her and smiled sweetly when Kida raised an eyebrow and turned away he tilted his head and jumped onto the balcony catching her arm as she walked into her room. "Kida. Come to me." He said in a calm voice. She pulled her arm away from him. Kirin was taken aback by this only a few days ago she was hopelessly devoted to him and now she was emotionless towards him. She sat on her pillow for her vanity and stared at her reflection. He kneeled behind her and kissed the back of her neck. She closed her eyes holding her breath. Her whole scent was changing and Kirin could smell it he opened his eyes and turned her around to look at him. "Kida what is the matter?" She opened her eyes which were a dark purple and had a red rim around the outside of the iris. She smirked at him. "Nothing." Her voice was cold and blunt. She glared at him and narrowed her eyes. He furrowed his brow at her and pulled her up by her arm guiding her to the bed he held her close to him but she was resisting. Kida gritted her teeth and pushed away from him. "Why are you acting like this. I saved your life. You should be more grateful." Her eyebrows lifted "As I for you Kirin." She sneered at him. He threw his arms around her. "Kida let me have you before I escort you to the ball." He whispered in her ear. "I shall attend the ball alone without an escort. Now please leave my chambers." She said as she heard steps approaching from outside. "Oh. So you are denying my touch." He said his fangs barred. Suki slid the door open. "Slave you are dismissed leave lady Kida's chambers at once." He snapped without taking his eyes off Kida. Suki could smell the irritation from the general and eyed Kida. Kida nodded her head and Suki backed out and closed the door. Kirin threw Kida down on the bed and pinned her arms down. She gritted her teeth at him and he barred his fangs at her.
Downstairs the ball was in full blast and demonesses swarmed Sesshomaru trying to get his attention on them. Suki approached Sesshomaru bowing her head he ignored her at first still scanning the room for Kida. "Lord Sesshomaru I come with news of lady Kida." She said snapping his attention to her.
"Where is she?"
"I believe she is in trouble please follow me."
She said leading him through the crowd. Getting passed the flocking women proved to be more of a burden than he anticipated. Now he remembered why he didnt bother to attend these ridiculous events. The whole palace shook and everyone froze the music stopped and the lord of the palace sat in his throne chair. A crashing sound was heard and the general fell from a hole in the ceiling. Suki's giggle was muffled by her hand. "Please disregard my disturbance." She bowed and disappeared. Kirin grunted as he got to his feet. Blood dripped from his mouth but by the scent everyone knew it wasn't his. His eyes met Sesshomaru's and he smirked at him licking the blood from his lips. Kida descended the staircase and all eyes went to her. Blood dripped from the bite mark on her neck and her eyes glowing red. She gritted her teeth as she threw her hand out in front of her causing Kirin's eyes to widened, swinging it to the side Kirin was thrown through the doors of the palace and landed outside. The soliders blocked her way as she stepped off the last step. Her eyes locked onto them. "Let's make a bet, that I can make you all fly like your general." She laughed as she swung her arm sending all of them flying to the sides. "Kida!" Kagome yelled from the crowd pushing her way forward. "Kagome." She said in a relieved voice as her eyes stopped glowing and she fell to her knees. Blood covered her hand as it fell to the side she had used it to hold her neck where Kirin had bit her. Sesshomaru stepped forward and picked her up and without a word carried her out of the palace. Kirin and his men were up and had their weapons out. "Stop she is still property of this palace!" Kirin sneered at Sesshomaru. "Move aside general for she is unable to protect you this time." Sesshomaru growled at him. "General Kirin move aside and let the lord and his company leave. Lady Kida is not a slave here nor is she a prisoner and I will not have you break our alliance over this." The eastern lord's voice boomed from his throne. "Yes my lord." He gritted his teeth. He fumed as he watch them disappeared in the distance. "Come men we need to repair the palace wall." Kirin said still looking to where they disappeared to.
