Chapter 19: the unexpected turn

"Aircraft Explosion caused three staffs injured, head pilot's currently showing signs of unconsciousness, while the other two are still currently conscious." Ani ng Paramedics.

Ang kaagad kong pinuntahan na pasyente, ee, iyong Head pilot. Fuck this heart, why can't it forget Axel already. But before that tinanong ko muna 'yung vital signs ng pasyente.

But when I attended the head pilot, it was not him... but it was Tristan. M-my Childhood friend. Fuck.

"Fuck.." I whispered.

"Can you handle?" Suddenly, our Chief Surgeon appeared out of nowhere.

"H-hm?" Utal-utal ko pang sagot. Hindi mag sink in sa 'kin 'yung nakikita ko ngayon.

"It looks like he's a family member of yours. No matter how good a doctor is, it will always be hard to operate and treat their own family."

"I'll handle it," he suddenly said. Ang tagal ko nag-hang at nakatayo lang doon. Ang sama tuloy ng tingin ko sa sarili ko! Ako pa mismo ang nagsasabi na time is gold tapos ako pa 'tong tatanga-tanga lang na nakatayo dito habang nagaagaw buhay si Tristan.

"Sorry.." that's the only thing that came out of my mouth.

Sinubukan kong libangin 'yung sarili ko. I know Tristan is in good hands. I can't operate on him. I just know I just can't.

After two minutes, I finally gathered myself all together. Nagkakagulo na sila sa emergency room tapos ako hindi ko alam ano ba dapat unahin ko.

Kila!! Umayos ka please.

"Doc!" One of the nurses called me, huminga ako ng malalim bago tumakbo at pumunta roon.

"Is this the flight attendant?" I asked while I was checking on her and her vitals.

"Yes, we've run the needed tests and scans already, there's no sign of damage or fracture in the skull and same goes with the brain but the patient suffered multiple fractures in its legs and hips."

"Have you paged Dr. Yejun? Make sure that this patient gets into the operating room as soon as possible." Utos ko.

"We have notified him, we have also notified the assigned orthopedic surgeon."

"Okay good, then where's the other patient?" I asked, then she pointed and showed me the assistant pilot that got hurt and injured.

The assistant pilot was getting some first aid treatment from one of my co-doctors. When I saw who it was... then that's when I lost myself. That's when my world fell apart... for the third time.

I-I thought it was impossible. But i-it's not... fuck, it's.. it's A-axel...

"Can you continue this Dr. Antonez? I have to check on the head pilot,"

Seconds passed I didn't answer back. "Doctor," the nurse tried getting my senses back.

I was shaking and a lump on my throat was starting to form.
