"Hello?" Niall said again. His voice wasn't the same as in person but it still made me feel something.

"Hi, Niall it's me Lily. I got your note."

I didn't know what to say. I never really spoke on the phone, Im more of a texting person. I walked up the hallway to the window and looked out of it as he spoke to me through the phone.

"Oh hey. Sorry, I thought you were one of those annoying people who call and then just hang up," he said. A nervous laugh comes from the phone. He seemed like he didn't know what to say either.

"No no it's just me," I said awkwardly.

Silence came from Nialls end of the phone call and I wondered what he was doing.

"Niall? Are you there?" I asked nervously.

A scratchy sound broke the silence and made me jump, "Yes yes this is Niall, I'm very sorry I have to go but I'll call you back tomorrow. Ok bye," a man that clearly wasn't Niall said. Whoever it was had made his voice high pitched and tried to do an Irish accent. He had failed.

The phone line cut out before I could say anything. I took my phone away from my ear and switched it off leaving just the slight sound of the city at nigh to comfort me.

I sighed and made my way back down the hallway to mine and Liv's room. She was exactly where I'd left her, one knee up by her chest, the other leg straight out and both arms above her head.

I forced my legs to walk to the bathroom where I took my mascara off, brushed my teeth and went to the toilet.

My mind drifted back to Niall even when I didn't want it to. I didn't know why I thought about him so much, I didn't want to it just sort of happened. He was always there in my mind. Always ready to jump in whenever I had a spare moment. No matter how much I tried to resist, I couldn't remove him.

"Oh Lily, what are you doing?" I asked myself in the mirror. I already knew the answer to my own question but that didn't stop me from asking myself it again.

"What are you doing?"

The truth is, i had no idea what I was doing or what I was getting myself into.
