A/N

How many of you are BNHA family? I'm thinking of moving the sequel a little bit to the hero side. There were a lot of complains in the original book about how confused they were about one piece.

As a result I almost took it out of the rewrite but then changed my mind. One piece is a major backbone in my story. You don't need to watch all 900 and something episodes, I won't dive much into it.

I'll give you all the information about the devil fruits right here in OSCIN

-------

The knowledge this beaver had was amazing. Unlike other geezers, she remembered everything to the finest detail.

"The trees never forget child. Look at this leaf." She held up the giant leaf she'd been holding.

"From the texture alone you can tell how long its been alive, the type of  wind that brushed against it everyday, and if it was happy with the sunlight it was given. With this alone I can judge where it's been, and the climate in which it came from."

"Like a tracker."

She paused, lips flicking over her gigantic teeth as her whiskers twitched. "Hmm, that's one way to put it I suppose."

The Great Aunt explained certain concepts that weren't in the anime, and told me of places one would only dream about.

"To understand chakra, you need to understand first its balance with nature. Before the ninja era, we weren't called summonings. Rather, we were seen as teachers and the first harnessers of nature chakra. Those we trained were called sages.

Each animal has its own form of senjutsu. The slugs have healing, the dragons focus on immortality, the toads focus on infusion, that is, harnessing nature for jutsu and enhancing senses while the beavers have wood."

"What about snakes?"

She shot me a look but still answered, "Snakes are the early forms of dragons, they are conceited, selfish and deceitful. Dragons carry wisdom from their past lives as snakes. They grow greedy about their knowledge. To them, it is even more valuable than the treasures they hide. Its why they never take summoners. The wolves are the worst."

My ears perked up at that. "Wolves?"

"They elder siblings of dogs. Arrogant creatures they are." She shook her head.

"But you didn't come here to listen to stories of our neighbours yes. Judging from your appearance you seem too young to be applying for a summoning. This must be because of your situation."

I winced. She hit the nail on the head quite good.

"Enerugihorudas are created from a rare mutation. Is that what they told you?"

I nodded.

"Well, I guess that's an easy way to explain it. The truth of the matter is that you weren't created through mutation. Enerugihorudas are made from the accumulation of chakra from one particular ancestor."

"Accumulation of chakra..." I repeated. This was starting to sound like science class with Sister Rose.

"That chakra acts like a ball of magnet, when passed unto the next, it attracts some amount and adds to its own, then its passed down again and the same process happens, over and over until it is tapped."

"Over and over..." I repeated.

"It is known as Shinzui korikosu, though a common name for it is reincarnation."

I blanched.

"Shinzui means the essence of a soul and Korikosu means to carry forward. Dear child, you are a reincarnate of someone either long gone or far away. You have been reborn."

.

There was a moment of silence as an anime effect took over, carrying wind into the temple with a ghostly tune.

"Judging by your luck of reaction I'd say you already know."

This was probably where they'd start playing some over dramatic sound that'll keep you on your feet.

The great aunt stared into me with an expression that said that if she had her way she'd scoop the knowledge right out of my head.

Anagi and the twins had long since left me in her counsel, making me face her creepily intrigued gaze by myself.

Suddenly, she brought her eyes back to her leaf, fingers tracing the edges. I let out an inaudible sigh of relief.

As much as it was tempting to tell her my story, I wasn't ready to reveal any secret just yet.

'Besides,' I thought as my breathing came back to normal.

'It wasn't my secret to tell.'

My best friend's dark locks slipped into my mind. An image of her staring lazily out the window with a distant look on her face.

'It was ours'

The beaver briefed me on other things about energy holders. "Sometimes, when one's gene and will is strong, their chakra natures change to match that of their ancestor. But 70% of them have water or earth or both."

It was only when my eyes became slightly droopy and a yawn escaped me that Anagi was summoned.

"Anagi, bring the contract for her to sign."

I blinked, slightly awake now. "Just like that?"

"What did you expect?"

"Isn't there supposed to be a trial or something?"

Her eyes narrowed at me. "Well do you want to have a trial?"

The way in which she watched me made me shake my head. "Then there's nothing more to discuss."

Anagi handed me the contract. "You're required to bring Gloom wood(made up). It thrives in cold regions and has chakra boosting properties. The trees are mighty and one of the tallest in the five nations. Bring one to me within your lifetime."

It was an easy deal which I signed quickly. All I had to do was cut one tree. How hard could it be? The great aunt beaver nodded when she saw the signature and turned her attention back to her leaf.

I stood around awkwardly for a second before turning around. The twins, which had been hiding behind me the whole time took that as their cue.

"Oh and Jiroki, Hirobi."

Both froze when their names were called.

"I haven't forgotten about the stolen stack of redwood."

"Shit." Robi cursed and grabbed her brother by the tail and hurried down the stairs.

"Come child, let's get you home."

I nodded and closed my eyes but opened them when I heard a 'wait!'. Hirobi came back to me, rolling a familiar looking fruit.

"You dropped this."

I sent her a grateful look and picked it up. I stared at the fruit for a minute, if I was going to keep forgetting it, might as well eat it now.

Gobbling it whole, I turned my attention back to Anagi. She flashed me a smile and did the reverse summoning handsigns. I closed my eyes and vanished in a puff of smoke.

-----

Everyone was waiting when I reappeared. With a smug grin and my head full of precious knowledge I opened my mouth to tell them all about Enerugihorudas.

However, before anything could come out of my mouth Tsunade stepped forward.

"Rin...it's your mother."

And just like that, my body fell into shock.
