I'm surprised no one has asked of Neji. He hasn't made a single appearance in this book.

Barbara's Pov(Still the night of the uchiha massacre)

Sayaka wasn't angry. She was just pissed off that her night had been ruined.

The Nara never liked playing hero, especially when it wasn't her story in the first place. This was Rin's job, she was only there for support.

"Uchiha~san."

Itachi made no indication that he'd heard her. The two were currently sitting in Shisui's room, the owner lying peacefully on his bed.

"I think you should give Yumi Shisui~san's eye."

The Uchiha heir tensed in his seat. He'd been watching the girl for a while and knew she was more than what she seemed.

He could never tell what was going on in her head but he knew that behind her carefree lazy attitude was something too dark to be carried by a child her age.

She was carrying her own burden, and it was that burden that made her dangerous.

They were similar that way.

"You murdered your clan but left your brother alive. If I didn't know better I'd say you were being intentionally cruel, letting him go to live in misery. But that's not the case isn't it?"

Sayaka pulled up her long sleeves and showed him her bare arms, letting him draw his own conclusions on how she got whatever he had seen on her skin.

"The hyuga princess is special to me, just like how Sasuke is special to you. We can endure whatever shit the world gives us, if only it means our love ones are safe."

She dropped her arms, letting the sleeves fall back down. "That's the same with Shisui~san. I know you don't want any lose ends in your plan that's why..."

Barbara looked him in the eye, braving the glare of the sharingan. "I swear on Rin's life that your brother will restore the Uchiha's glory."

She lifted her chin up, and pointed at her chest. "You can place your backup in me Itachi."

The said Uchiha said nothing. He put off his sharingan, a moment of trust, a moment of weakness, just liked she'd done when she made eye contact.

A crow flew through the window and landed on her shoulder. The Nara bowed slightly.

"Arigato."

She received no response and flickered away. That night, a mutual bond of respect had settled between them.

ME: That was so sad and depressing. Remind me to never leave these two alone again. They're both f**king pacifists!

Barbara: Don't go all sulky now, you're the one who wrote me that way.

Me: That's even worse...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Barbara settled cross legged in the Nara fields. She bit her thumb and made a series on hand signs before gently placing her hand on the ground.

There was no need to slam it when the results were the same. A puff of smoke appeared and a creature stood before her.

"Ya summoned me Sayaka~sama~" It sang.
