In my two years of training with Jiraiya, I learnt a lot about chakra control. Of course there was only so much he could teach me though, seeing as he wasn't a pro in that region.
A year after I settled in, Tsunade took the reigns. Nagato had opened up to me by then. The squad called me cute whenever I challenged the uzumaki.
That always annoyed me and I'd puff my cheeks or pout, effectively proving them right. Konan and I bonded on hair. Her violet hair was to die for and since it was both our favorite colour...
Did I forget to mention we painted the boys' rooms violet and soaked their clothes in purple dye? Pfft.
I still hadn't beaten Nagato, much to my disappointment. It was like fighting six people at once. No fair.
Tsunade helped me with the basics of chakra control but they still weren't enough and my chakra was flowing like crazy. So there was no surprise there when I broke the door...again.
"Aw man!' I whined as I stared at the piece of wood i'd practically ripped from the wall. I might have looked like I was pouting but on the inside I was frustrated.
This was getting pretty old, and annoying.
"Don't worry Rin~san. You'll get it under control in no time." Konan soothed.
"Yeah, at least you didn't bring the wall down like last time." Yahiko added.
I tsked and stepped on the door-everyone cringed when the wood crunched beneath my feet as I walked out.
They all turned to the orange haired boy who stared eyed-wide at them. "What did I do?!" Came his faint protest as I walked further.
The next day, Jiraiya was grinning like an idiot. That stupid perverse grin he always had on when he had a stupid idea that might lead to trouble.
"What is it?" I asked folding my arms. HE giggled like a girl.
"You're hopeless." Tsunade tsked and walked up to me, a serious look on her face.
"Rin, do you know the signs of a summoning jutsu?" She asked.
I nodded, confused at what she was pointing at. "Well, Jiraiya and I have decided, we think you're ready to have a summoning."
My mouth opened in shock and this time, I was the one grinning like an idiot.
"Hell yeah!"
"Now, before we begin, you should know that not only are you ready for one, it will also help with this chakra control issue of yours."
I cocked my head, confused.
"Do you know why very few people have summonings?" Jiraiya asked.
"Because not everyone is lucky to have a summoning contract."
Ero~senin nodded. "That's true, but not the main reason. A summoning contract is like a gateway that connects the summoner and his/her summoning."
"Take it like a key which has now been handed over to the ninja. Once he has the key he would be in charge of keeping the door open. And what is used for seals and doors like that?" Tsunade asked.
"Chakra."
Suddenly it all seemed to make sense.
"Not many people have summonings not because they aren't lucky to have a contract, but because they don't have enough chakra to keep the contract running. They can't afford it. Its why we don't teach anyone, especially kids. But you're an exception because-"
