Chapter Sixteen

~•Y/n First Person POV•~

So right now, Ukai was driving me home from my birthday dinner. It was really awesome! He took me to (favorite restaurant) and payed for my meal. He told me everything that happened at camp and I told him how the shop was. When we were right outside of my house, he told me to close my eyes. I did as told and waited for him to place his present in my hands. "And open," he said as I did as told. "I know this present isn't as 'cute' as the one last year, but this one means a lot to me."I saw what he got me and I smiled: a pile of his favorite CDs. "I've had these CDs since I was your age. I'm not sure if you'll actually like the music, but I think they could be pretty cool. Maybe you-"

"I love them!" I interrupted him before he could ramble on. "Thank you!"

"Of course, Kiddo," he smiled.

I hugged him goodnight and went to unlock the door to my house. When I turned on the lights, I saw something unexpected. "Happy birthday!" A wave of confetti was thrown into the air. I jumped back only to bump into someone: Ukai. I blinked a couple of times to grasp what was happening. It was the team. There was a huge banner with 'Happy Birthday, Y/n!' painted across it. Balloons were spread around the apartment and confetti littered the floor.

My apartment . . . It has color! It's bright! "You guys did this for me?" I gaped. They nodded. They all had the biggest smiles on their faces. I almost started crying on the spot. "Th-This is the nicest thing anyone has ever done," I then turned to Ukai. "You were in on this?"

"Happy birthday, Kiddo," was all he said.

"L/n!" Noya jumped into my arms. "Do you like it?"

"I absolutely love it!" I hugged him back.

"It was Noya's idea," Tanaka spoke up.

"It was our idea," Noya corrected him. "We're pretty awesome!"

"Thanks, you guys." I hugged them both.

"But Kageyama is the reason this was able to happen," Suga smiled.

"Really?" I walked over to Tobio.

"It's not a big deal." He scratched the back of his neck.

I hugged him and he hugged me back. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. I could hear his heartbeat speed up and that made me smile. I nuzzled my face deeper into his chest. "Of course, it is," I whispered loud enough for only him to hear.

We released each other and I walked over to the rest of the team. I greeted them and they were all so sweet. Everyone was in such a good mood. They also had everything set up in the cutest way! They had a table with all my favorite candy and deserts. Apparently, Miwa and Nami made the cake. After a bit, Ukai left to go home. We played music and just had a good time with one another.

There was one thing weird about the party: Tsukishima. He didn't say anything weird, in fact, I'm not even sure if he said ten words. He seemed a lot quieter and more observant. He kept looking around at my house and at times, his eyes would land on me. I just decided to brush it off for tonight.

Tanaka and I wandered off again. It was easier this time because everyone was just together with no organization.

Tanaka and I got to the door and he said, "we have to figure out what they're hiding."

"Going to have to do this the old way," I said, as I started working on the lock with pin.
