Lacey's POV
Once again, I found myself in the park, playing hide-and-seek. Not trying to impress you or anything but, I'm the MASTER at this game. Yup. "Aw, C'mon Lacey! Come out! I give up!" I heard him call out, I giggled. How bad could someone get at this game? I was hiding behind a bloody tree for carrots sake! I stepped out of my 'genius' hiding place and snick up behind him. I heard him huff. "Fine then be that way, I'll just go home without you-"
"BOO!" "AAAAAHHH!!"
I cut him off by shouting 'boo' and he positively scremed bloody murder! I put my hand over his mouth and tried to contain my laughter. After he calmed down, he playfully glared at me. "Planning on going home without me, eh Georgie?" I asked raising my eyebrow and smirking. He huffed again and took my hand away from his mouth. I giggled as we began walking through the park again. We came across a play park and both simutaneously looked at each other, a mischeavous glint in our eyes.
I sped off, sprinting towards the fence surrounding it, trying not to slip on the ice and snow. I could sense George somewhere near me but continued running. Once I got to the gate, I flung it open and slammed it close. Hah! Try get in now Georgie. I turned around to see him leaning against the fence on my side. "Wha-How?" I started to ask, before he cut me off. "There's such a thing called 'jumping over the fence' Lace." He smirked and went towards the slide. Oh yea. Cos I reeeaaalllyyy want to slip and get a broken ankle. Again.
I bounded over to the slide and attempted to climb up the ladder thingy, which was quite difficult, seeing as it was snowing and icy. After about five minutes of me slipping and George laughing, I gave up. "Fine then! If you're so smart, you try it!" I challenged him, crossing my arms and pouting. He chuckled and came over to me. I watched in awe as he got up the ladder in five seconds and slid down the slide.
"Ahh! Now my bum's all wet!" He whined, wiping his backside. Not that kind of wiping your backside you dirty minded children! I giggled and pulled him towards the swings. My phone vibrated and my mind immedeantly jumped to the misterious 'Blocked Number'. They hadn't been bothering me or George, from what I know of, for quite a while now. They seemed to not want to break their streak as the text was actually from Alex:
Hey baby! Sorry I can;t be with you again but I really couldn't miss my piano lesson! I'm practising for my exam so I need to stay for a while longer:( Sorry babe, but I'll see you soon, yeah? Love you xxxxxxxxxx
I sighed and quickly typed a reply, and shut my phone off. "What's wrong?" George asked, scrunching his eyebrows. "Nothing, just Alex is held back at his piano lessons." I said, shrugging. George 'aahhhd' and nodded his head. That's the reason we were hanging out. Alex was at piano and Tiff was at her 'drama lessons'. As if she needed any. The boys were probably in my house, being the lazy buggars they are. But I love them all the same.
We walked out the play park, side by side. I shivered in the cold and pulled my favourite red hoodie around me. "Cold much?" George questiones sarcastically, raising his eyebrow. "Ha, ha, ha." I said, also sarcastic. "I know something that can warm us up!" He exclaimed, and tapped my shoulder. "Tig!" He shouted and ran away. I shook my head and chuckled. He can be so childish at times. "But you love it!" He shouted from somewhere, in a girly posh voice. Oh my. I must've said that out loud.
I began searching for him and found him hiding behind a tree. Genius! I ran up behind him and tapped him on the back. "Tig!" I yelled, but was already running away. But, me being a klutz, I slipped and fell on my bum. Yay. George howled with laughter, clutching at his sides, his nose scrunching up like it always did. I scowled at him and got up, steadying myself, before running away again. Carefully this time.
"Not so fast!" George said, from behind me, and his arms came around my waist, picking me up and swinging me around. I giggled and squealed, grabbing onto his hands. An elderly couple walked passed us, holding hands. "Suck a sweet looking couple." I heard the woman say. I turned to look at her, she smiled and I smiled back. "Thank you but we're not a couple. Just best friends." I explained, smiling at her again. Her smile grew wider, "Aaah. I see, but I can see in both your eyes, theres something there. A little spark." She said, and walked away, holding her husbands hand, who twirled her around. I smiled at them, now that's what you call a cute couple.
George let out an exasperated sigh. "I need to pick Tiff up from drama now." He said, checking his watch. "Come with me?" He pleaded. I sighed and nodded, no one could say no to that puppy dog face! We walked back to George's house which, by the way, was right next to mine, and hopped into his car.
After a short drive, we stopped a little way outside the drama hall and waited. And waited. And waited. "Ugh! Where the hell is she?!" George hissed angrily, just as his phone vibrated. He read it aloud:
"Georgey baby, you don't have to come pick me up today! We're being held back an hour or two for more practise! Don't wait up!xxxxxxxx' Ugh! She couldn't have sent this sooner?!" He muttered. But I wasn't paying attention anymore, for Tiif herself just came out of the buliding, a couple of metres in front of us. Seeing as the windows were tinted, she didn't know it was us in the car, but she looked like she was waiting. Waiting on someone. I motioned for George to look and, when he tried to get out the car, I pushed him back in the seat and told him to wait.
After 2 minutes another car pulled up and a boy stepped out of it. He headed towards Tiff and when he reached her, they started making out. Furiously. George froze next to me and his hand clenched the wheel tighter, his knuckles going white. "That lying, cheating, flithy whore!" He hissed and slammed his hand against the wheel. I would've expected him to be more angry about it but, once again, I wasn't listening.
Because I had saw something. Something that made my heart stop. Or rather, someone. When the pair pulled back, I had a clear view of the mystery boy. And it was someone I was not expecting.
Alex.
