(Tyler's POV)
"It's so early." I groaned, collapsing on the couch.
"Stop complaining." Madelyn scolded, tightening her hair in her ponytail. I rolled my eyes and hugged myself as I lay on the soft couch.
"Yeah, man, we could be on the streets still listening to your whiney ass that you couldn't see the sun." Noah teased, getting laughs from Ethan and Jason. I rolled my eyes again and placed my hand over my eyes in an attempt to get rid of any light.
"She's not even up yet."
"I'm sure she is." Madelyn corrected.
Last night after dinner, Ethan and I took some food to Caroline and Danielle. When we walked in they were already cussing us out and trying to get out of the chains. We were both so tired, but they had to eat and if anyone was going to feed them, it would be us.
Now it's five in the morning and we're waiting for Kristine to get up so she can train us with our powers. I don't need training because I'm pretty awesome with my powers, but Madelyn came storming into my room this morning talking about some morning runs.
Madelyn and Noah started back on their morning runs, so they were up by four-thirty this morning. I'm not sure if Ethan slept last night. He hasn't slept in days since Danielle has been this way, so it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't sleep. I don't know about Jason anymore. Since we've been here, he's been acting differently. He's not up Madelyn's ass anymore. Instead, he seems to be more confident. I don't know, this is weird.
"Noah is so out of shape." Madelyn teased as she lifted my legs and plopped down on the couch. I glared at her as I placed my legs over the top of her and shut my eyes again.
"Hey, hey, I outran you in the end."
"Yeah because you pushed me to the ground." She fired back making the three boys laugh. I honestly felt annoyed with their presence. "Tyler, what is your deal?" She poked my stomach and I looked up at her.
"I'm sitting here at five in the morning waiting for some stranger to go practice my powers. What do you think the deal is?" I asked sarcastically, making her roll her eyes. I expected her to fire back with something just as sarcastic, but she didn't.
"You're acting like you're still on the streets." She said. I sat up, sighing as I did. She just didn't get it.
"Don't you guys think this is just a load of bullshit?" I asked, grabbing the back of the couch. All of them rolled their eyes and groaned, murmuring to each other. "No, I'm serious."
"Tyler, she told us everything we needed to know last night," Jason said, crossing his arms.
"So we're supposed to trust a random woman with powers? Like dude, she melted my brain."
I looked around at everyone and they gave me the same looks. First, Madelyn looked over at Jason and then looked at me unamused. Jason looked at me with no emotion, and Noah looked at me with a sort of scolding look. And Ethan looked... tired.
"Like seriously... Look at Ethan. He's about to fall over." We looked at him and he blinked like he was coming out of a daydream. I smiled as lifted my hand. A small stream of water shot from my hand and hit him, making me laugh and Ethan groan in frustration.
Noah and Madelyn sent objurgating looks at me, but Jason snickered, which made me laugh harder. Ethan wiped his face in annoyance and I looked over at Madelyn. She looked like she was getting tired of me, but I don't care.
"Stop being stubborn," Madelyn said, narrowing her eyes at me. I turned to her and just as I was about to insult her, Kristine walked out of her room.
"Alright, I'm here. Let's go, everyone." She said. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she was wearing a red and blue bodysuit. My mouth dropped at the sight and I couldn't stop myself from snickering.
