Caroline, Danielle, and Rebecca were all walking out of school for summer, laughing about some weird thing that the boys did. Madelyn had stayed home because she was sick with the flu, so they were going to bring her some soup after school.

"Where are they, I thought they were following us?" Danielle asked, still laughing. She was talking about the boys, who were probably getting in trouble because of what they did before the three girls ran out.

"I don't know, but I don't want to wait for them to come. Blake is supposed to give us a ride." Caroline said, stopping her laughter now. She looked around for her brother. Tonight was his graduation and he knew how much Caroline wanted to help him get ready.

"He's probably hanging out with the druggies behind the school again." Rebecca laughed, receiving a disapproving look from Danielle. Caroline's eyebrows pulled together as she looked down at Rebecca.

"What?" Caroline asked. Rebecca stopped laughing, but her smile was still present.

"You didn't know he was taking drugs?" She asked. Caroline's face looked disgusted with the allegations Rebecca was making.

"He's not. He's got so much ahead for him to do that stupid shit. He's taken four college classes and he's been accepted to Harvard. He's not going to ruin his entire life for that." Caroline said forcefully. Rebecca's smile dropped and Danielle bit her lip.

If anyone knew anything about Caroline and Blake Brooks, it's that they protect each other no matter what. He was the star player of every sport, the nice guy who helped everyone around the school, and the smartest, and most popular. If anyone disrespected Caroline or any of her friends, Blake would be the first to do something about it.

"Well, I saw him over there and he had a cigarette in his mouth," Rebecca said, almost happy about it.

"Well, it wasn't him." Caroline shot back, gripping her backpack and looking around for Blake.

"So, who's excited about our Bahama trip?" Danielle asked, breaking the awkward silence.

"That's not until our senior year, idiot." Rebecca snapped at Danielle. Danielle looked over at Rebecca with a dirty look.

"What is your problem, Rebecca?" Caroline snapped, turning toward her now. Rebecca rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

"Nothing. You're the one who snapped at me. You're annoying." Rebecca answered. Danielle blinked, a little confused about how they all got to this point. They were just laughing with each other a few minutes ago, but now they were fighting in the school parking lot.

"If we're annoying you then you can find a different way home," Caroline answered, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Rebecca, what are you doing with them?" One of the groups of girls who hated Danielle and Caroline asked. These girls treated everyone like they were nothing. People liked them because if the girls talked to any of the students, they would make the students feel like they were worth something.

"Uh-- nothing." Rebecca was quick to answer, bowing her head to not be seen by Caroline or Danielle, but Caroline and Danielle looked over at each other with the same looks on their faces. They were thinking about the same thing.

"Are you back to hanging out with the bitches?" The same girl asked, making the other girls laugh.

"No, I was just telling them how pathetic they were," Rebecca answered, barely making eye contact with anyone.

"Rebecca, what's going on?" Danielle asked. She didn't want to hear what was happening right now, but deep down she knew.

"Nothing," Rebecca mumbled.
