Chapter 17- Friends

"Please alphy?" KJ begs shes been trying to get the older girl to go to the music room with her all morning, but Emilia was stuck in bed her brain running rampant with thoughts she couldn't say anything she just stared at the wall blankly, she wasn't purposely trying to ignore her friend but she couldn't find the will to do anything

"Not now coon... maybe later okay?" Emilia finally says her voice was wavering as she pushed away the tears that threatened to spill, KJ just climbed up on the bed and hugged her friend she of course understood, being understanding in these situations she never took it to heart.

"That's okay, take your time... I'm here" KJ whispered as she ran her fingers through her friend's hair, no words where said after that as they sat in silence, occasionally KJ would hum or tell a random story. Emilia smiled slightly grateful for her friend who was there in her darkest times.

"Would you like me to run down and bring your dinner up here? You know cait would let us" KJ suggest as she looks at the time, it was a little past 5 meaning dinner started

"I'm not really hungry" Emilia sighs not breaking her eye contact with the boring white wall but her stomach grumbling said otherwise and much to her dismay KJ heard her stomach

"you need to eat, I'll be back" KJ tells her scooting off the bed and leaving the room. Emilia says nothing and instead stares at the wall her mind racing as her eyes once again fill with tears, today was her fathers birthday and she wasn't there to spend the day with him which she hated more than anything... she was his closest friend and often saved her from her mom who wasn't all bad till a few years ago

"Fuck" Emilia groans staring up at the bed above her its always empty as KJ and her like to cuddle at night, it's great for nightmares which both girls have constantly having someone by your side in the darkest moments is always helpful

"I got food and some company... the others wanted to join" KJ tells her friend entering the room with two trays and their friends trailing behind, Emilia chuckles slightly and sits up taking the tray as KJ sits next to her and starts eating. Everyone sits around the room eating and talking casually these are moments that make being trapped here worth it she was with her friends she considered family they even had a name Salbizummus, a mixture of all there inside jokes, and now there was a new member and sure while Emilia and Scarlett had issues they could work through that in time

"We should see about going on a walk in the courtyard! Those are always fun" KJ speaks breaking the silence the other girls nod its been awhile since they have taking a walk together and now, they can show Scarlett the nicest part of this place

"sure coon, we can ask B and Cait after" Emilia tells her as she finishes her food, for a girl who said she wasn't hungry she really was, besides KJ brought her salmon and that will never go to waste

"Your going to like the courtyard" Ramisa tells Scarlett who nods

"Can't wait, but I thought we can't leave the building?" Scarlett questioned curiously

"We can if we have a counselor with us" Owyn tells her taking Katelyn's empty tray stacking it on hers

"We can take the trays" Owyn tells the group motioning to her and Katelyn who gather the girls empty trays to bring them back to the cafeteria

"Ramisa come with me we will go ask" KJ tells the younger girl who nods as the two get up and make there way out of the room leaving Emilia and Scarlett who sit there refusing to make eye contact

"Alright look I am sorry for being a bitch" Scarlett says breaking the silence first she isn't one for awkward silence and wanted to get this conversation over as fast as possible

"I'm sorry too, can we just start over?" Emilia questioned and Scarlett nods

"Do you know when you leave?" Scarlett asked Emilia who was fiddling with her blanket

"Pfft probably never, every time I come close, I relapse and I get stuck here again... I think I don't have an option to leave for about 2 more years" Emilia tells her and Scarlett's eyes widen 2 years?! God she can't imagine staying here that long

"Wow.." Scarlett mumbles

"You?" Emilia asked the girl who was still in shock

"About 3 months is what I was told" Emilia nods a little jealous she gets to leave at some point, the only good part of being here is the lack of her mother but she dearly misses her father who at family day told her of how they got divorced so when she got out he was getting full custody of her

"Good news! We can go to the courtyard!! Come on!" the girls got up with a laugh and followed the other four down the halls where Cait and B where waiting with smiles happy the girls where looking to get out for awhile they believed it was well needed

"Also girls we had to tell you something, next week we are taking you girls to the water park!" the girls stop and stare at them in shock and awe they never EVER got to leave the hospital grounds

"Are you serious?!" Emilia questioned and the nodded the girls had huge grins on there faces as they explored the courtyard, admiring the waterfall and flowers and more... maybe things could look up for them?
