The One Suggestion

It was just one party, one party that was supposed to ease their minds from every stressful thing in their lives, but instead, it made everything worse.

It all started in the student lounge of Riverdale High, where Veronica Lodge, Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, and Betty Cooper usually spent their school breaks. Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz, otherwise known as Choni, Kevin Keller, the former sheriff's son, Josie McCoy, the former mayor's daughter and fierce leader of Josie and the Pussycats, Reginold Mantle, school football jock, happened to be with them spending their brief recess together.

"Who else got a video tape mailed to them this morning?" Josie timidly asked the group.

Everyone shamefully raised their hands to answer, and Kevin said, inquiring his thought, "I wonder who's doing this..."

"I mean for what purpose would someone make random videos of our homes and fake snuff tapes? To terrify us or for some darker reason?" Betty rambled on, arguing her point, all fired up.

"Or maybe they have a grudge against us for some reason..." Jughead continued as his eyebrows ruffled and he placed his elbow on his thigh and placed his chin on his fist, "It's a miracle the person who's making these tapes isn't the same person who made our sex tape."

"I mean, who's to say they aren't? I mean, this person also made a fake tape of a fake me killing a fake you, Jug," Betty said, gesturing and looking at Jughead.

"I don't think those preppy Stonewall bitches would have the guts to do something like this after you escaped death's grasp by their hands," Veronica responded to Jughead, lightly throwing her hands out in a shrugging motion.

"True, they just wanted me gone; there would be no clear motive for why they would do something as big as this," Jughead said, leaning back in his seat.

"Unless they wanted to torture you again by harming the people you love," Betty suggested, shrugging.

"The only person I love is you, Betty Cooper, I just tolerate everyone else," Jughead flirted as he winked and smiled at Betty.

Betty kissed Jughead, and Cheryl said, swiping the brush of her lip gloss side to side on her lips, looking into the mirror in her opposing hand, "Ugh, hobo, bride of hobo, can I put my signature red lip gloss on in peace?"

Everyone laughed, and Kevin had snapped a picture of Betty and Jughead kissing and, as he posted the picture on his story, he said as he typed the hashtag, "Bughead is the best ship at Riverdale High!"

Cheryl happened to be swiping through Instagram after she finished applying her lip gloss and saw Kevin's story, looked up from her phone, and said, "Really, Kevin?"

Kevin just smiled and covered his face with his hand like a visor in both contentment and embarrassment, and Toni inquired, "It's our senior year and we're caught up in all this murder, drama, and everything."

"I know right? I wish everything could just be normal." Josie replied.

"No crazy principals that ban everything," Reggie added.

"No ongoing murders," Archie also added.

"No gangs," Kevin added on.

"Hey!" Cheryl, Toni, Betty, and Jughead all said in unison, glaring at Kevin.

"Oh right, sorry." Kevin apologized.

"Idiot," Jughead mumbled, rolling his eyes.

"I mean, can't we just get a break for once? Ugh," Toni said.

A light bulb, the light bulb, went off in Cheryl's head with an idea, the idea.

"How about we throw ourselves a party?" Cheryl suggested.

Everyone got an intrigued look on their face, and Veronica responded, putting one leg over the other and placing her hands over the one other on her thigh in her seat, "I'm listening."

"Not a, per say, pity party, but a party to, I guess, put a little light in our current miserable lives," Cheryl went on, crossing her arms and switching her feet.

"Will there be refreshments at this party?" Veronica asked in code.

"Of course, you dumb bitch, why wouldn't there be?" Cheryl replied, rolling her eyes.

"Who's house are we throwing it at?" Josie asked.

"We can have it at my place, my mom is off in Chicago for the weekend for some legal work," Archie offered.

"I'm down," Reggie said.

"And everyone bring a plus one unless you want to be a single pringle," Cheryl told everyone.

"Juggie, will you be my date to the party?" Betty asked, smiling.

"I'm only doing this for you, Betty Cooper." Jughead responded.

"Well, I guess I'm taking you," Archie said to Veronica.

"Damn straight." Veronica said.

Everyone laughed, and Cheryl said to Toni, "If you don't ask me out to the party, I swear you are sleeping on the couch tonight."

"I don't need to ask, because I already put you down as my plus one." Toni flirted back in response.

"You are too cute," Cheryl said to Toni as she kissed her.

"Omg, get a room!" Josie said as everybody started laughing.

The bell suddenly rang, and they all said their good byes and started going to their next class.

"See you all at the party!" Cheryl called out as she left with Toni.
