Recovery

Jughead and the gals had just left, and just Archie and the masked man were left to face each other.

As Archie looked into his eyes, he was reminded of the horrid incident that had put a toll on his life. This man had again put another toll on his life by shooting and stabbing both of his best friends.

The masked man had somehow managed to get up, and then proceeded to punch Archie in the face numerous times...but that wasn't met without Archie's defense.

Archie was used to this extreme violence, from being in jail to being a boxer he knew the book well.

Archie eventually got the masked man to fall on the floor and the gun that had been on the man fell out to the floor.

Archie quickly punched him in the gut and grabbed the gun and pointed it at him.

The masked man laughed and said, "Go ahead and end me. It's not going to change anything, redhead."

Archie hesitated, and, instead of killing him, shot him in the arm.

"Good luck with the cops," Archie said as he harshly threw the gun on the man's stomach and walked out and slammed the door.

Archie dialed FP's number and waited for him to answer.

"Hey, Red, what's up?" FP greeted.

"You have to get down to the Five Seasons now. I'll explain everything later, but we found the guy who's been mailing out the tapes." Archie told FP.

"Alright, I'm on my way right now," FP said.

"Meet me at the hospital after," Archie said.

"What? Why?" FP asked.

"Again, I'll explain everything when you get here. I have to go," Archie said as he hung up the call.

Archie arrived at the hospital while FP and the cops were arresting the masked man.

He got out of the car, and walked inside the hospital, and saw Veronica sitting in the lobby.

She saw him, bloody and bruised from the hand to hand combat, and rushed up to him, fell into his arms, and kissed him like there was no tomorrow.

"I'm so glad you're okay, Archiekins," Veronica said as they pulled back from the kiss.

"Yeah, I'm lucky to be alive," Archie said.

"What happened?" Veronica asked.

"I put the guy in his place, and the cops are arresting him right as we speak," Archie told Veronica.

"Thank god," Veronica said.

"Are Betty and Jug okay?" Archie asked.

"The last I heard about Betty, she was in the operating room. Jughead is back with the doctors taking care of his wound, probably getting stitches I imagine," Veronica told Archie.

"I hope they're going to be okay," Archie said.

"They will be, I just know it," Veronica said, "Do you want to go take a seat with me?"

"It would be a pleasure," Archie said as they both took a seat next to each other and Veronica rested her head on his shoulder.

After thirty minutes of waiting, FP finally walked through the hospital doors.

Archie and Veronica got up and Archie greeted, "Hi Mr. Jones."

"Hi, Red," FP said.

"Did you get the guy?" Veronica asked.
