Jughead had just hidden his motorcycle after coming back from his new side job. That delivery alone had just made him $500. He was proud that he had way to earn more to support Betty and his new soon-to-be family, but he was disappointed that he had to earn it in the shady shadows of drugs.
He quietly opened the entrance to the bunker, and came down the the ladder as quietly as he could. He started walk as silently as he could, but suddenly a light came on and he saw Betty was standing in front of him next to the light switch.
"Jug, can you explain to me what you're doing out this late at 3 AM?" Betty asked.
"I picked up a late shift so I can earn money for us," Jughead responded.
"Where and what exactly do you do?" Betty questioned Jughead as she walked up and and stood directly in front of him.
"I work security for Centerville Hotel," Jughead lied.
"And when were you planning to tell me this?" Betty asked.
"I was planning to tell you tomorrow to surprise you, but you blew my cover," Jughead said.
Betty smiled and chuckled and said, "That's what you get when your girlfriend is an expert detective."
Jughead chuckled and smiled at Betty and said, "Let's get back to bed, you need your rest."
"As do you." Betty said.
"You're the one with a baby inside of you, not me," Jughead said as Betty laughed and they walked back into their room.
Meanwhile, Veronica and Archie arrived at the abandoned warehouse Seymour worked in. They ran to the door, and knocked on it harshly. Thinking it was his usual scheduled delivery, he opened the door.
Archie grabbed onto his shirt and pushed him up against the wall.
"Are you Seymour Miller?" Veronica asked.
"Who are you and what the hell do you want?" Seymour asked in response.
"Are you the one who sent the package of fizzle rocks and jingle jangle to La Bonne Nuit?" Archie asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Seymour lied.
Archie punched Seymour in the face and threatened, "Don't lie to us, or I'll do a number on you."
Seymour hesitated and said, "I sent another dealer to deliver them, but yes."
Out of the corner of her eye, Veronica spotted a clipboard of the names of the dealers and delivery boys and asked, "Mind if I have a look at these?"
"Sure, do whatever you want, just please don't hurt me," Seymour said.
"Why did you send the dealer to deliver those drugs to La Bonne Nuit?" Archie questioned Seymour.
"Someone requested a delivery, so I sent in a dealer, plain and simple," Seymour lied again.
Archie punched Seymour in the face again, harder this time, and yelled, "Don't lie to me!"
"My boss told me to do it!" Seymour confessed.
"What's your boss's name?" Archie asked.
"Penny. Penny Peabody. Now will you please let me go?" Seymour begged.
"When you tell me where she is," Archie told him.
Seymour reached into his pocket and grabbed a slip of paper and handed it to Archie.
"You can find her there," Seymour said as Archie looked at the slip of paper.
During this whole shake down, Veronica was reading over the papers of the dealers and delivery boys. She wondered what the tally marks were, when it suddenly clicked. Those tally marks are the amount of deals and/or deliveries each dealer has made.
She suddenly came across the last, or you could say most recent name on the list...Justin Jackson.
Veronica aggressively walked up to Seymour and asked, "Who the hell is Justin Jackson and was he the one who delivered the package?"
"Justin is one of our new dealers, and, even though it says he only has one delivery, his first was not the package you received," Seymour explained, "The dealer who delivered those drugs is a guy who goes by the name of Chic."
Archie and Veronica both looked at each other, and Archie put Seymour down.
"Thanks for your help," Veronica sarcastically smiled as she and Archie left.
"Not like I had a choice," Seymour mumbled.
Veronica and Archie were in content and felt like they were almost at the finish line and their prize was getting Reggie back...but they were far from finished and so was the drama. Come morning, Veronica would get the call that would change everything.
Veronica's phone that she set on her nightstand rang, and Veronica hazily woke up next to Archie after a long night.
"Hello?" Veronica greeted tiredly.
"I am Reggie's officer assigned to his case," the officer told Veronica, "We have turned down your bail request for Reggie is being brought to court."
"Thank you for telling me," Veronica said.
"Bye now," the officer said as the line went dead.
Veronica slammed her phone down on the nightstand and yelled, "Fuck!"
Archie slowly woke up and saw the concern on Veronica's face and asked, "What's wrong, Ronnie?"
"I just got a call from the Riverdale Police Department," Veronica told Archie.
"What did they say? Did they accept your request?" Archie asked.
"No, Reggie's case is being brought to court," Veronica explained.
"Oh my god," Archie said as he put his arm around her and held her close, "I'm sorry, Ronnie."
"We can still get him out of this, right, Archiekins?" Veronica asked.
"I don't know, but I sure hope so." Archie responded.
