A doctor came rushing in and saw the scene.

"I NEED SOME MORE DOCTORS AND NURSES NOW!" the doctor called out.

A barricade of doctors and nurses came in to help, and one of the doctors told Jughead, "Don't worry, sir. We're going to figure this out, but I need you and the infants to wait outside."

Jughead pulled the stroller out and rushed out of the room, worried for Betty's fate.

He sat on a bench that was directly outside with the stroller in front of him. The twins started to cry, and Jughead took off his beanie. He was already crying, but looking at the iconic beanie, recreated by his girlfriend out of her own time and kindness, made him cry more as he sunk his head into his hands and beanie.

It felt like ages until Archie and Veronica came walking down the hallway only to see Jughead sitting on the bench fiddling with the beanie anxiously, with his face red and puffy from tears. The twins were up and about, not too thrilled, either.

Archie and Veronica ran up to Jughead, and Veronica stood by the stroller as Archie sat next to him.

"Oh my god Jughead, what happened?" Veronica asked, concerned, as they ran up to him.

"I finally thought she was getting better and that she was going to come back to me." Jughead said blankly, out of tears to cry.

"What do you mean? What happened to Betty, Jug?" Archie asked.

"I was just sitting next to her, holding her hand, and suddenly, she held my hand back, like she heard everything I was saying, but then everything turned for the worse," Jughead paused, "The monitor started to beep uncontrollably, and doctors and nurses rushed in and pushed me out."

"Do you know if she's okay?" Veronica asked.

"I haven't heard anything for hours," Jughead said.

Veronica started to anxiously pace back and forth, and Archie assured Jughead, "Jug, I'm sure she'll pull through."

"And what if she doesn't?!" Jughead angrily blurted.

Archie and Veronica didn't say anything, and Jughead said, "I'm sorry."

"It's okay, you're just worried about Betty, I am too," Veronica accepted.

Suddenly, the door opened to Betty's room and a doctor walked out.

"Are one of you Jughead Jones or friends of Betty Cooper?" the doctor asked.

"Yes, I'm Jughead and these are my and Betty's friends, Archie and Veronica," Jughead told the doctor.

"Sorry for the delay, but Betty's stable now. Her heart overworked due to an accidental overdose of a certain drug we were giving her, but she was really lucky we could fix it in time before something worse could happen," the doctor explained.

"Thank god," Veronica said.

"You guys can go see her now," the doctor said as they rushed in.

Jughead went to Betty's side and sat in the chair next to her bedside, and Archie and Veronica stood at the edge of her bed as they heard the monitor steadily beep in silence.

Jughead held Betty's hand and said, "You can't scare me like that again. I was so worried about you, and I couldn't get the twins to stop crying."

There was complete silence and then Jughead whispered, "Please come back to me."

Jughead squeezed her hand and looked down to stare at its [her hand's] complexion.

"Jug?" Betty whispered.
