"What is all of this, Alex?" I asked, completely overwhelmed.

"Come, sit."

I hesitated, my feet feeling like cement blocks instead of light flesh and bones. I couldn't move. His lips curved, and I felt the same thing I'd felt a million times before. It was something magical within me. Something pure and beautiful. My heart fluttered, my tummy turned, and I couldn't help but smile back at him. He patted the space next to him on the piano bench.

"Please?"

"Alex..."

"Come and sit, Hannah. Please."

I moved one foot forward, and the other went along with it, and a few slow steps later, I stood beside him. He patted the seat again, and I sat down.

"Yes?" I asked, looking at his hands, which were twisting in his lap.

"I know you, Hannah. And I think I've gotten a pretty good idea of what you like and what you want. And I want to be that for you. I love you. So much that I'm going to sing a song that I would not normally sing, but I'm doing it for you. Because I love you and I want you to see how much."

I chuckled. "Alex, you don't have to do that."

He leaned over and kissed me tenderly. "I know, but I want to. For you."

I sat back and looked down at the piano and picked up a rose petal, then put my hands back in my lap. He wiped the rest of the rose petals off of the keys and placed his hands on them carefully.

His mouth began to move, and the most beautiful sound came from it. I'd heard him sing many times before, but this was unbelievable and intense. And I recognized the song immediately. It was a Taylor Swift song, one of my favorite artists.

"Clear blue water, high tide came and brought you in

And I could go on and on, on and on, and I will.

Skies grew darker, currents swept you out again

And you were just gone and gone, gone and gone."

He sang to the rhythm of the music perfectly, and my heartbeat loudly in my chest. Shortly in, a sniffle escaped from my mouth, and I realized I was crying.

"In silent screams,

In wildest dreams,

I never dreamed of this.

This love is good, this love is bad,

This love is alive back from the dead.

These hands had to let it go free,

And this love came back to me.

Tossing, turning, struggled through the night with someone new

And I could go on and on, on and on.

Lantern burning, flickered in my mind for only you

But you're still gone, gone, gone.

Been losing grip,

Oh, sinking ships.

You showed up just in time."

I wiped away tears as I stared at his beautiful face, covered in facial fuzz. He closed his eyes as he continued to sing.

"This love is good, this love is bad,

This love is alive back from the dead.

These hands had to let it go free,
