EJ POV-
I got up and walked to the men's bathroom. All the stall doors were open, except for the big one at the end. I slowly walked to the door and pushed on it. Locked. I could here soft sniffles coming from the other side.
I knock on the door. "Ricky? Is that you?"
The soft cries stop and I hear feet shuffling.
"Um, y-yeah. It's me."
My heart breaks at the sound of his sad voice.
"What happened Rick?"
He doesn't say anything and it worries me.
"Rick, I'm coming under ok?"
"ok." he whispers.
I crawl under the stall and stand up and see him sitting in the corner hugging his legs close to his chest. I immediately go next to him sitting down. It's quite for awhile until I decide to speak.
"Want to tell me what's wrong."
"I just felt nervous and freaked out that's all."
Nervous? What made him feel nervous ? Who made him feel nervous !
"Why were you feeling nervous?" I ask moving my hand next to his.
"Well it's stupid."
"No it's not. Tell me please, I want to help."
He takes a deep breathe in before speaking.
"Well, I don't know if you know this but, Big Red is my only friend and I'm not good at talking to people. I was already feeling anxious about meeting all you guys because I didn't want to make a fool out of myself and embarrass Red." He says.
"I-um I also didn't bring any money with me so all day I've been panicking. That's why I freaked out when you told me I should buy the shirt."
"It's ok, all you had to do was ask I would've given you some."
"But I don't want you giving your money to me."
I grab his hand which makes him look up at me.
"I would give you my money any day Ricky. Now come on, everyone's waiting for us."
We walk out of the bathroom, our hands are still together and I don't think he notices. I keep my hand attached to his.
This isn't cheating right. It's ok to hold a friends hand when you have a girlfriend, especially when you find them crying in a bathroom, you need to comfort them.
"Oh my god Ricky! Where were you?"
Big Red hugged Ricky in a tight hug. My hand felt cold as Ricky let go of my hand and I felt jealous when I saw them hug. I want to be the one hugging him like that. Wait what am I saying!
"Oh Ricky your ok! I thought someone kidnapped you." Nini says getting up to hug him.
He gives a confused look towards his bestfriend who just shrugs grinning at him.
Weird.
"What took you guys so long?" My girlfriend ask.
Ricky looks at me not knowing what to say so I speak for him.
"He was waiting in line for the bathroom and it was long. We could've gone to the other one but it's all the way downstairs so I waited with him."
Everyone stared at me for a minute before they shrugged and went back to their seats. I go over to Ricky to ask him what he's going to eat.
"Uh I'm not that hungry it's fine."
"I'll buy something for you."
He looks up at me, his cheeks all red. It's actually...cute.
"No EJ it's fine I don't-"
"I said I'm buying you food, so just tell me where you want to eat or I'll just get something from wherever." I say in an annoyed tone.
He rolls his eyes at me and looks behind me. I turn to follow his eyes and see a Mc. Donald's. He probably wants to eat there. I grab his hand and pull him to the Mc. Donald's. I ordered what he wanted and we sat back down with everyone and talked. Ashlyn brought up how she missed school and wanted it to start again which we had an argument about. It's only the third week of summer break and she's already talking about going back to school.
Ricky isn't really in the conversations, he's on his phone.
"What are you doing?" I ask scooting closer to him.
"Nothing, just watching skate videos." He says quietly.
"Oh that's cool. Do you skate." I ask.
I already know he does I just want to talk to him. He's so cute. I mean cool!
"Yeah I skate everyday. It's how I get around everywhere." He says with a big smile.
"You guys talking about skating?" Kourtney asked.
Ricky nods, hiding in his seat because now everyone is looking towards us.
"Cool, I think skaters boys are hot." My cousin says looking at Red.
He looks at Ashlyn with wide eyes giving her a toothy grin. Something is definitely going on between them.
"Are you like, a pro?" Seb ask.
Ricky shrugs his shoulders looking down at his hands. "No not really."
"What! He doesn't know what he's talking about Ricky's amazing." Bid Red says ruffling his hair.
"Well I would love to see this amazing skating." I say making Ricky blush.
"We can go to the skate park after this if you guys are up for it." Red suggest.
We all nod our heads yes to the idea and finish our food. We do a little more shopping taking videos and pictures for memories. By the time we get out of the mall it's already 6:00. We're in the parking lot figuring out who is going in what car.
Me and Carlos are the only ones with a cars. After some talking we figured out the seating and drove to the skate park. Kourt and Seb went with Carlos and Nini, Ricky, Ashlyn and Red with me.
We sang some songs on the way, and by we I mean everyone except Ricky who was just staring at his phone. Nini tried to talked to him but he wouldn't make full conversation.
