{A/N: I just want to say before starting this chapter, thank you so much for reading. I never expected to get past a hundred reads, and no, as I'm writing this, I'm about a hundred reads away from one thousand, and it is bewildering. Honestly, thank you. In case you haven't heard, I will be starting a new book The Lies Of A Marriage soon. Again, thank you for reading, voting, and commenting, it makes my day, and I hope you enjoy the ending I have for you all to read.}

~Five and a Half Months Later~

{Thomas's POV}

It had only been about six months since Alexander and I first started dating, yet I knew from day one that he was the one. So much so, that I planned the biggest event of my life for our graduation day. During the second semester, I'd decided to be Mr. Washington's TA during his second period, so during the five minutes between classes, I walked over to him.

"Hey, could I ask you something?" I questioned, and when he nodded, I continued, "So, graduation is in two days... I know that Alex and I have only been dating for six months, but I was sort of planning something... I don't know if it's a good idea, but you're the only person I trust that I can think of who wouldn't risk giving away my plan."

"Plan, hm? Well, what is it?"

"Well, I was thinking-"

What? Did you think I'd give away my plan so easily? You'll have to wait. Just like Alex does.

Mr. Washington told me that he thought it was an amazing idea, so I had my destination for shopping that evening if I could simply figure out how to slip away from Alex for a little.

After school had ended, and Alex and I both got home, I got my little sister Anna to challenge Alex to some Mario kart on our Wii, so that was I could conveniently remember that my parents definitely had asked me to go pick something up at the store for them because that was certainly why I was leaving.

This trick worked, and Alex stayed home to race my little sister as I got to head out to my car and drive off to the store, that was obviously just some supermarket to see if they had something my mom had been wanting, that's all this was, just a small errand. I don't think Alex suspected a single thing.

{Alexander's POV}

I was a tiny bit confused as to why Thomas was getting his jacket on, so I asked while keeping my eyes mostly on the screen, seeing as I was racing Anna in Mario kart.

"Where do you think you're running off to?"

"Huh?" Thomas looked over, "Oh, my mom just asked me to go see if they restocked something she wanted at the store. She checked a couple of days ago so I don't think they'll have it, but I'm humoring her. Just stay and race Anna, I'll be back soon."

"Ah, okay," I replied, smiling when he walked over, planting a kiss on my cheek before taking his leave. God, I loved him.

When he did return home, he had no bags in hand, so I assumed they ran out and I walked over to him.

"You were right then?"

"Yup, they haven't restocked yet. I tried to tell her that they wouldn't be."

"Some people don't like to listen sometimes," I answered with a shrug.

"Well look at you projecting." He smirked.

I looked at him a moment then (lightly) slapped his shoulder, "Asshole." I huffed.

"You love me though."

"I don't know how... But yeah..."

He chuckled then grabbed my hand, leading me upstairs and to our bedroom, it was getting pretty late after all.

The next day was uneventful, but the day after that? It was our graduation day. Thomas and I went in his car, while his mother and father each had to drive one of the two family cars so they could get all of his siblings to the school to watch the graduation. The principal spoke for a moment, then handed it off to Mr. Washington, who spoke a moment before starting to call out students alphabetically so they could come up and get their diplomas. Thomas and I got to stand next to each other since we happened to have last names right next to each other in the alphabet, at least in this case since our school had no one with a last name starting with an I.

"Alexander Hamilton." Mr. Washington called, and I smiled at Thomas before hurrying up onto the stage.

I was handed my diploma, and then I started to walk off, when I was told to wait, I was confused but I did as told.

"Thomas Jefferson."

"... Are you sure I shouldn't head down?"

"I'm sure, Alexander." Mr. Washington replied, then he looked at Thomas.

I shuffled my feet and watched Thomas, realizing he was handed the microphone instead of his diploma.

"Alex, can you come over here?... I know that right now I should just grab my diploma and go... But I'm going to hijack our graduation here."

"Oh my god... Thomas, you're going to be the death of me..." I murmur, walking over to him.

"We've only been together for six months... But those have been the best six months of my entire life, and I want those six months to become six years and longer—"

My eyes widened I covered my mouth with one of my hands. There was no way this was happening right now.

"—so, Lexi, if you can put aside the fact that we've only been together for half a year—"

It really was happening, and tears flooded my gaze, causing my sight to go blurry.

Thomas got down on one knee, and looked up at me, reaching under his graduation robe to grab a ring out of the pocket of his outfit underneath, holding it up, "—will you marry me?"

For once, the tears that started to race down my cheeks and the slightly choked-up breathing wasn't caused by grief, stress, nor panic. No, these were tears of joy. I tried to wipe away the tears enough to actually look at the ring that Thomas was holding.

"... Oh my god..." I murmured, then nodded, "Yes..."

Thomas stood back up, taking a hold of my hand and slipping the ring on.

"I love you." We told each other in unison before embracing each other.

I felt like I was up on the clouds, it was as if I were flying, and I don't believe I would ever come down as long as I had Thomas in my life.
