An Assassin's Rose: Remnant

Chapter 40: There can only be one Fall Maiden

Back in the city, Glynda uses The Disciplinarian to knock back a few Creeps, while Qrow slices and blasts at a few infected Knights with Harbinger.

And while they do that many of the Justice League were either fighting their enemies or were helping civilians to safety.

And nearby, Cardin Winchester giddily knocks back an Ursa with his mace, but then gets held at gunpoint by a few infected Knights.

But suddenly their heads are shot off, surprising Cardin. As the smoke clears, it is revealed that General Ironwood had somehow miraculously survived his crash. But he did not come out unscathed since his uniform was trashed.

Although, the most shocking part was that his damaged uniform exposed the right half of his body. Which revealed that, that half was in fact cybernetic.

Without hesitation, he shoots down all of the infected Knights with his pistol, which is known as Due Process. And then flipping it into his right hand to club the last one as it leaps at him.

"This area is secure, we need to..." But before Ironwood could finished his sentence Qrow glares angrily in his direction and quickly transforms Harbinger into Scythe mode.

And slams it into the ground in front of him. "Qrow, this isn't my doing!" Ironwood said in shock.

But Qrow didn't say anything as he twirled his scythe and held it behind him as he ran forward.

And Ironwood, not wanting to hurt his friend just flipped his gun around in order to hit him with it. But as he was waiting for the inevitable fight, Qrow did something he wasn't expecting.

He leaps past Ironwood, who turns around just in time to see a large Griffon lunging at him. And with one swing of Qrow's scythe, the Griffon is sliced in half down the middle. Upon landing, Qrow turns around to address Ironwood.

He scoffed, "You idiot. I know you didn't do this."

Ironwood relaxes and sighs, lowering his head and putting his hand to his forehead, while Glynda places her hand on his shoulder.

"So, what now General?" Qrow questioned.

Getting serious Ironwood holds his hands behind his back. "Someone's done the impossible and gained control of my machines. And that enormous Grimm seems to be fixated on the school."

He then looks at Glynda and said, "Glynda, form up the local huntsman and establish a safe zone here in Vale. We need to evacuate Beacon."

"And remember to get our friends to help as well." Qrow reminded and winked at Glynda.

Glynda scoffed at the very idea of not using a group of masked heroes with polymorphic semblances to good use.

He then looks at Qrow, "Qrow, I'm leaving that to you and my men. I still need to get to my ship."

And like magic, said ship could be heard passing overhead and all anyone could do was watch as it exploded and crashed.

Qrow scratches his head in confusion on how that happened but then his eyes caught a shadowy Nevermore that had two familiar people riding it to Beacon.

He snorts in amusement since he should have known that those two were behind this.

"Well, it won't be much of a walk." Qrow stated.

And with that all the Knights fell to the ground.

"Alright I guess we should be going then." Qrow stated.

"Not so fast, since that's over, someone can send these four to a cell." Sebastian stated and throws the beaten-up Team NDGO at the huntsmen and General's feet.
