Over the next week - Edward was missing from school, Bella finally went to the local diner with Charlie and Maggie, and Maggie spent all week working on the editorial for the school paper. Bella met Maggie's favorite waitress, Cora, while at the diner, and Maggie learned of a waitress opening in La Push.

Which is where she is today. It's officially Saturday and Maggie is at the small diner on the reservation hoping for a job. She's waiting at the counter for an application when Sam and Leah enter.

"Maggie," Leah greets. "Hey."

"Hey, Leah," Maggie greets Amd she catches Sam's curious eyes. "Hey, Sam."

"Hey," Sam greets. "What're you doing on the rez today?"

"Applying for a job," Maggie replies as the manager returns with an application. "Thank you."

The manager nods his head and he nods in greeting at Sam before disappears into his office once more.

"I miss you, Mags," Leah claims.

"You know where I live," Maggie says. "And you're almost always gone or with Sam when I come over to your place."

"I know," Leah sighs. "I'm sorry. Sam's dropping me off after we leave here. Maybe you can stop by and hang out when you're done filling out your application?"

"Yeah, that sounds good," Maggie replies. "I do miss you, too, Leah."

"Let's go, Sam, I need to clean my room," Leah says.

"I'll see you around, Maggie," Sam says before he leaves with Leah.

Maggie sighs and she returns her focus to her application.

After hanging out with Leah for a few hours, Maggie heads to first beach for some time alone before she goes home. She walks over to the water and she sits on the sand underneath the rocks of the cliff as she stares into the water, easily ignoring the chilly air.

"What're you doing here alone?"

Maggie turns her head slightly and she finds Sam sitting beside her. "I'm not alone now."

Sam rolls his eyes. "You know what I mean."

"I do," Maggie replies. "I just wanted some time alone before heading back to Forks."

"How is your sister hanging in?" Sam asks.

"I don't think she likes Forks all that well," Maggie says. "She doesn't like the rain, the wet, or the cold. I don't see why she moved here in the first place because she loves the heat."

"Maybe you should ask her," Sam suggests.

"Perhaps I should," Maggie replies. "Thanks for talking to me, Sam."

"Of course," Sam replies.

Maggie and Sam sit there for the longest time before Leah texts Sam, and he leaves. Maggie remains a little longer before she stands and she heads home to spend some time with Charlie and Bella.

A/N: I know this is a shorter chapter. It's more of a filler chapter for Maggie Swan.
