Maggie drives to school the following morning once she's dressed and quit her job. She parks in Emmett's old spot, giving that spot a Jeep to bless it while the Cullens are away. She walks across the lot and she sees Jessica with Angela and Eric.

"Hey!" Maggie greets.

"You look HOT!" Jessica gasps. "Getting a boyfriend made you hotter, Maggie."

"Right?" Angela muses. "You look good."

"Thanks," Maggie replies as Mike walks up. "Hey, Newton."

"Hey, Swan," Mike greets.

Maggie smiles and she looks around at her friends. "Where's Ty?"

"He has the flu," Angela replies. "C'mon, guys, we've got class."

Maggie pats Mike's shoulder and she wanders off. She heads to her first period class, which is Bio II this semester. She shares this class with Angela, Lauren and a guy named Ben Chaney. Maggie sits in one of the back tables with Lauren.

Mr. Mason walks in and he looks at this semester's biology class before he looks over his class list as he calls roll and he starts his class.

After French I with Mrs. Lemore fourth period, Maggie heads to lunch. She gets a slice of pepperoni pizza and some kernel corn from the lunch line and a delicious salad from the salad bar, along with an apple before she sits with Mike, Jessica, Eric, and Angela.

"I'll kill Tyler if he gave me the flu," Jessica complains as Maggie sits down and she opens her orange crush.

"It's going around," Angela claims. "My sister was so sick she couldn't come on our hike this weekend... so she didn't see them."

"Ang," Eric says in a sotto tone, "maybe you should keep that to yourself..."

"We saw something, Eric," Angela cuts her boyfriend off. "Two somethings."

"I believe you," Eric lies.

"No, he doesn't," Jessica replies. "He's just trying to get lucky."

"Is that an option?" Eric asks hopefully and Maggie laughs a little.

"They were jet black and solid white, they were huge," Angela gushes as she ignores Eric. "On all fours, they was taller than a person. A bear, maybe."

"Or big foot," Angela says as Maggie tenses, Angela's family had seen her and Sam on their patrol.

"Or an alien," Mike chimes in. "Lucky you didn't probed."

"We saw it," Angela says quietly.

"You're not the only one," Bella says as she joins the table, seeing how scared Angela is.

Everyone stares at Bella in shock. They saw her when she sat with them while Maggie was getting her food, but they were half way expecting her to remain in a zombie state and silent.

"My dad's been getting reports at the sheriff's station," Bella says; Maggie's heart clenches as Bella says 'my' dad and not 'our'. "A couple hikers went missing. People are scared."

Maggie mentally scoffs. They're not killing those hikers. Maggie and the pack are keeping them safe from the blood sucker (s) that's been roaming around Forks. She sighs as she sees how chilled the table has become.

"I did hear some guy talking about it at the store," Mike claims.

"Last time you clowns doubt my girlfriend," Eric says and Maggie scoffs, he had just been doubting her.

Maggie hurries home and she looks at Sam. "People saw us."

"What do you mean, people saw us?" Sam growls.

"My friend Angela and her family were hiking along our patrol route over the weekend," Maggie says. "Black and solid white, huge. Taller than a person on all fours."

"What did she say we were?" Sam asks as Paul saunters in.

"Bears," Maggie claims. "But Sam, my wolf is white. A white bear?"

"Could be albino," Jared states. "An albino bear is rare, but they're out there."

"Ang doesn't seem suspicious," Maggie states. "But according to Bella, Charlie has been getting calls at the stations about missing hikers."

"We're keeping those hikers safe," Paul snaps.

"I know!" Maggie snaps right back. "But people are scared!"

"We'll cut back.... as soon as this blood sucker is taken care of," Sam states. "Got it?"

Maggie growls and she storms out of the house. She phases, ripping her good school clothes, and she takes off into the trees.

"I got her," Paul sighs and he follows.

Jared looks at Sam. "She's gonna be okay."

"I know," Sam replies. "She's just got a huge heart when it comes to the humans."

"And the Cullens," Jared replies. "She's friends with them."

"Once she's graduated, the treaty will include her, too," Sam says.

"She knows that," Jared says. "And that's why she's so moody. She's scared she won't be able to see Charlie again."

"Mom will bring him by to see her," Sam says. "She'll get over it."

"Then you don't know your sister at all, man," Jared says and he walks out of the house to go find Paul and/or Maggie.
