"Maggie, do you know Bella's scent?" Sam asks a couple of days later as the sun sets.

"Yes, why?" Maggie asks.

"She's missing," Sam replies. "She and the Cullen she was with went into the woods after school and she hasn't been back. Billy, mom, and Harry are at Charlie's."

Sam and Maggie hurry out of Emily's place and they phase. They bolt into the trees, not even bothering to wait for Jared or Paul. Maggie walks ahead as she sniffs the ground as the rain falls in a misty form.

Maggie stops in some shrubs in Forks when she picks up a faint scent, Bella. She can barely smell her on account of the rain but as her yellow, wolf-eyes look through the darkness and bushes, she finds Bella curled up in a ball.

'Sam! I found her!' Maggie demands. 'Phase and carry her. I'll phase, too.'

'Why should I carry her?' Sam protests.

"Dude, you know why,' Paul asks as he and Jared patrol around La Pish. 'It would be suspicious if Maggie carried her.'

Sam huffs, his pack having a good point. He and Maggie go into different bushes and drop the clothes from their snouts.. Maggie puts on her skinny jeans, black tank top, a black flannel, and some converse while Sam picks up Bella, Sam is barefoot and shirtless in denim shorts.

Charlie stares at the map that's on the hood of Bella's truck. Billy and Harry are there, Charlie called them as soon as he realized Bella was missing. Harry called Sam, and Allison was already there with Charlie.

"I'll call the Cullens again," Charlie claims. "Her note said she and Edward went for a walk."

"They left town, Charlie," Billy claims.

"Hospital said doc Cullen got a bit job somewhere else," Harry adds as he places a reassuring hand on Charlie's shoulder. "We'll find her, Charlie."

"Charlie!"

Charlie looks at the wooden and watches as Sam and Maggie leave the woods togrgher. Billy feels his insides heat up in pure happiness as he sees the Uley siblings together. Harry's heart clenches at the sight.

"It's Sam Uley and Maggie," Billy breathes. "They found her."

Charlie bolts across the yard. Maggie has never once seen her dad move that fast.

"Thank you, Sam, Mags," Charlie says. "Thank god," he breathes as he grabs Bella.

"I'm gonna go and clear Bella's bed," Maggie says. "Sam, I'll call you?"

Sam nods and Maggie runs to the house. Charlie cradles Bella close as he follows Maggie into the house. Allison, Harry, and Billy go inside shortly after. Jacob is glued to Charlie's side, he keeps peering at Bella worriedly.

Maggie sits on the couch as Charlie and Jacob bring Bella upstairs.

"You don't know how it felt seeing you and Sam together," Harry claims.

"The Cullens left?" Maggie asks. "Sam mentioned something about it through mind link."

"Yeah," Billy replies as Allison takes Maggie's hand. "Apparently one of them nearly slipped? I'm not sure. All I know is that they're gone, Mags."

Maggie sighs and she buries her face in her hands. Allison shares a look with the other two council members as Charlie and Jacob come downstairs.

"She's warm, and crying," Charlie says sadly. "How could they just... leave?"

Maggie shrugs nonchalantly. She stands and she goes to Bella's room. Using her body hear, Maggie holds Bella to warm her up quicker and she kisses her in the head.
