The rest of that night while Bella was holed up in her room, Maggie spent her night at the police station with her father because his good friend Waylon Forge died. Something killed him, an animal or something.

Maggie is worried for her father when she goes to school the following morning. She verbally scoffs when she sees Edward and Bella walking towards the woods together.

"Maggie!" Alice chirps as she skips over to Maggie's Jeep, where the door is still open. "You look amazing today!"

"Thanks," Maggie replies. "Your outfit's cute, too."

Alice beams and she skips off. Maggie sighs and she goes over to where Jessica and Angela are. They three talk about how pretty all their dresses are as they head toward the school while Bella wanders deeper into the woods with Edward.

After school, Maggie's Jeep engine stalls. She growls as she punches the staring wheel. She stops and she inhales deeply. She glares at the starter before she tries again and it stirs to life. She calls her dad and he tells her to swing by the station.

Charlie gives Maggie enough money to get the Jeep fixed until she can buy another one. Maggie will pay her dad back first thing when she finds a job.

Maggie drives to La Push and to Joshua's garage again. He did such great work and he's got a great reputation with working on vehicles.

Joshua smiles a little when he sees Maggie but he frowns at the steam rolling from under the closed hood. He sees an annoyed girl in the front seat as the Jeep dies.

"Nice to see you again," Joshua says.

"I really, really wish I could say the same, Mr. Uley," Maggie says.

"Call me Joshua," he insists. "How long has it been smoking?"

"It started half way here," Maggie replies. "The engine was stalling when I was getting ready to leave school. At first, I thought it was the weather, but this Jeep is an '02 model..."

"The year shouldn't phase it, M..."

"Call me Maggie, not miss Swan," Maggie cuts him off with a smile.

"The Jeep seems like it's in great condition, Maggie," Joshua claims, "except for under the hood."

"I have just enough for you to fix it, if you can," Maggie says.

"I can fix it, no problem," Joshua replies.

"Joshua..." she speaks shyly as the man pops the hood of her Jeep. "Is there... any places hiring on the reservation?"

"How are you with math?" Joshua asks as he fans the smoke out of his face after he opens the hood.

"I'm excellent, I think," Maggie replies. "Why?"

"I could use someone in that office of mine," Joshua replies as he turns to face her. "You good with computers, too?"

"Yes, sir," Maggie replies.

"I could use someone who can take down my car appointments and do the whole payment thing from the car owners," Joshua offers. "That's if you're interested in working in a dirty car garage."

"I wouldn't mind," Maggie replies quickly. "Do you have applications?"

"Manny, get Maggie here an application," Joshua instructs and one of the works heads into the office. "Just fill it out and I'll look it over."

Maggie thanks Joshua before she follows Manny into the office. Joshua smiles to himself before he begins working on Maggie's Jeep.

"I swear, you're a god with cars," Maggie muses as she starts her Jeep, and it runs like a dream once more.

"Glad I could be of service," Joshua claims. "Come into the office and we'll get your payment done."

Maggie turns her Jeep off and she follows the man into the small office where she coupe possibly be working at. She pays Joshua for working on her Jeep and she heads back to Forks.

Joshua sits in the desk chair after he goes to the bathroom to wash the grease off his hands. He grabs Maggie's application before he grabs the picture of Allison holding her as a baby. The man sighs before he puts the picture down and he reads over the paper.

Maggie gets home and she sits beside her dad. "Guess what!?"

"What?" Charlie asks.

"I filled out an application at Uley's Garage on the reservation," Maggie says. "I'll be taking the payments, giving change back, putting the car appointments into the computer... if I get the job."

"I'm sure you will," Charlie claims. "I knew you'd get one."

"I'm going to pay you back for getting my Jeep fixed," Maggie says, "and then I'm going to save up for a new one."

Charlie pats Maggie's knee. "I have no doubt. But Mags, you don't have to pay me back."

"Of course I do," Maggie replies. "That was an expensive dress."

"Go make us some dinner."

Maggie rolls her eyes with a smile before she removes her jacket and she ventures into the kitchen. She begins to fry up some chicken until Bella gets home. Charlie scolds her for skipping school and Bella goes to help Maggie in the kitchen and help with dinner.

After dinner, Maggie washes up the dishes while Bella goes upstairs. Charlie kisses the back of Maggie's head and he heads upstairs. Maggie finishes washing up the dishes and puts them in the dish strainer before going up to her own room and changes into something warmer.

Mags sits in her window seat and she Skypes with Leah, who is heartbroken. She and Sam broke up. She said he had started acting different and was angry all the time. He broke up with her and now, he's apparently getting close to her own cousin, Emily Young.

Maggie and Leah talk for hours. Just talking to Maggie calms Leah down more than one would imagine. That's why Sue told her to talk to Maggie as soon as she found out what happened between her and Sam.

Maggie leans against her wall and she listens to every single word Leah has to say.
