Maggie hums as she watches Sam and Jared discuss patrols. Maggie sees Paul digging into a plate piled high of lasagna. A dish she just finished eating some of, too.

It's been about a week since Maggie phased. After Sam and the reservation elders talked to Carlisle for hours, Maggie has gotten permission to stay with her dad in Forks and go to Forks High School until she graduates but she's to be in La Push daily to be with the pack, and to get used to being apart of a pack. A family. Being a wolf.

Over the week, Maggie has talked to Joshua. They had a nice, long talk in the garage office. Joshua told her the truth about what happened between him and Allison, about Sam, her, about the adoption, Joshua told Maggie the truth about everything.

Maggie and Allison also bonded some more, as mother and daughter... not just as friends. Maggie has filled Allison in on every event that she's missed throughout Maggie's life, and Allison listened to every word.

Sam and Maggie have even built a pretty strong brother-sister bond. They talk daily, even when she's at home with Charlie and Bella. They'll Skype and text, or talk on Facebook.

"Will I get a patrol schedule?" Maggie asks curiously.

"Yeah, you will," Sam replies. "That's what we're discussing. Who to put you with and when, since you're set on finishing school."

Maggie nods. "Speaking of... I have to go soon."

"Tomorrow," Sam says. "The people think you have the flu. It'll be the right time to go back."

Maggie sighs and she goes up to Sam's bathroom. She looks at short hair. She had Sue cut her a day or two after her phase. Sue said it would keep her wolf's fur shorter and keep it out of her eyes as she runs in wolf form.

"Hey," Paul greets as he enters. "Can you leave so I can use the bathroom?"

Maggie looks at herself for a moment longer. "Yeah."

Paul watches as she looks at herself, he sees the insecurity in her eyes. "You look fine, Maggie. I promise."

"I have to go to work," Maggie mutters. "For my... father."

"Yikes," Paul grimaces. "Good luck. Now seriously, Maggie, I have to use the bathroom."

"Too much cheese?" Maggie teases as she looks at herself once more, and she hears a groan. "I'm done, I'm done, sorry."

Maggie brushes past Paul and she goes downstairs and she slips on her high heeled boots.

"You work today?" Jared asks in surprise. "Thought you'd quit there."

"Why? 'Cause my biological father is the owner?" Maggie asks. "Please. I need the money."

"Go," Sam urges. "Be careful."

Maggie smiles and she hurries out the door. She's running late. Maggie gets into her new Jeep that Allison gave her. It's a 2005 model.

Maggie parks beside Joshua's Dodge Ram and she heads inside. "I'm late, I'm sorry."

"It's not a problem," Joshua replies. "You getting caught you yet?"

"I'm getting there," Maggie replies as she clocks in, she releases a groan as the phone rings. "And my day officially begins."

Joshua watches as his little girl rushes into the office. She glances at the picture of her and Allison before she grabs the phone.

"Uley Auto Garage?"
******

"Have you phased anymore?" Joshua asks.

"I'm not bonding with you, Joshua," Maggie says.

"Why not?" Joshua asks in exhaustion. "You'll bond with Allison and with Sam..."

"Because they filled me in on just what type of husband and father you really are," Maggie replies. "I'll continue to work for you, because our personal relationship shouldn't effect the job."

"It won't effect your job," Joshua claims with a sigh.

"Good, because Charlie is, and always will be, my dad," Maggie says. "You lost the right as soon as you cheated on mom."

Maggie tenses when she realizes what she said. This is the very first time she's called Allison mom since she found out the truth.

"You left not only her, but Sam and me," Maggie says. "Charlie was the one who I had the father/daughter connection with. Not you. Not even close."

Joshua nods in defeat and he leaves the office. Maggie leans back in the chair and she stares at the computer screen as she thinks about how much her life has changed.
