"Seattle is in a state of terror," a reporter says over the tv.

Maggie is at Paul's, cuddling with him as they watch the news. Maggie rejoined Sam's pack after the bonfire, she couldn't stand being away from her brothers, Paul, and pack sister. She needed her pack family. The Cullens understood and let her go, even if Rosalie will miss Maggie like crazy. And it's been two weeks.

"Police are baffled by the escalating murders and disappearances," the news reporter continues. "Theories range from a vicious new gang to a wildly new serial killer... Reporting live, Dawn Chubai, CNN."

"It's getting worse," Maggie says to Paul. "The Cullens might have to go take care of it."

"What are you thinking?" Paul asks softly as he runs his hands up Maggie's arms.

"Vampires," Maggie replies. "I'd have to talk to the Cullens, get their take, but I'm thinking vampires. Human feeders."

"I love you," Paul murmurs.

"I love you, too, Paul," Maggie coos in response, not wanting Paul to let her go.... ever. "Never let me go."

"Mmm, I wish it were that simple," Paul murmurs. "We have to tell Sam about the news."

Maggie groans in annoyance, making her imprint laugh. Maggie kisses him before she goes up to his room to change. Maggie has been staying with Paul a lot since the proposal. She started working with Joshua again, but where he feels the danger in his own blood, he gave her a more flexible schedule until the vampire situation dies down.

Maggie has been hunting for a house, for her and Paul, for after a wedding. She's been thinking lately, though, about having a house built for them. Maggie and her mom have been looking into a piece of land near Sam and Emily's place.

Maggie gets dressed in this:

Maggie and Paul go in her Jeep to Sam's once Paul is in some cargo shorts, work boots, and a Supernatural T-shirt that he fibs about loving. Sam embraces Maggie tightly when she enters the house, he's glad she's back in the pack, and that she and Jacob are trying.

"The disappearances and murders are getting worse in Seattle," Maggie tells Sam and the others as soon as they pull apart. "I'm thinking vampires. I still need to speak with the Cullens, but..."

"Call Carlisle and speak with them," Sam instructs. "And then come back to me with what you find out."

"I was invited to Bella's graduation party in a few days because Alice is throwing a party," Maggie replies. "I'll discuss it with them then."

"Okay," Sam replies. "Your dad and our mom are coming over. He wanted to see the place, and you, and mom misses us."

Maggie nods and she glances at her engagement ring. "He probably wants to give Paul a good talking to, too."

"Probably," Sam replies. "I gave him a talking to when he asked my permission to propose to you."

"Paul asked you?" Maggie asks and she busts out laughing as Paul blushes slightly. "I thought he'd ask dad."

"Me too," Sam replies, knowing she meant Charlie. "Charlie will be my dad before we know it. God! I just realized that."

"Dad's not bad," Maggie claims. "Trust me. He's only protective."

"If only Joshua was like that," Sam mutters as Embry walks in. "Hey, Embry. Where's Leah?"

"Protection detail at Bella's with Quil," Embry replies. "Seth is still pouting because you're making him stay home and study."

Sam sighs. "He still needs an education."

"I know, and he does, too," Embry replies. "He's just a bit pouty. He'll get over it once he graduates high school and starts patrolling."

"Yep," Sam replies.

Maggie looks at Embry and she smirks. "Hey, little bro, wanna go patrol since Leah and Quil are on the protection detail?"

"Oh yea, sis," Embry hoots.

"They've gotten along as siblings," Paul states as Embry and Maggie run out.

"Yeah, I know," Sam smiles. "Both Tiffany and I are relieved."

Paul hums and he smells breakfast, something Emily just started. "Your fiancée is cooking."

"Oh, I know," Sam muses and they head toward the kitchen.

In the woods, Embry and Maggie race to a clearing before the separate for their patrols.
