LOVE DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN

Chapter 28

On my way back from school, I stopped by McDonald's to grab a to go lunch. After I had eaten, I was a little bit tired and decided to take a quick nap. It was 3:34pm when I woke up. I changed into a pair of jeans and a jumper and put my hair in a messy bun.

It was just a fifteen minutes drive from my house to golden bridge park. I was driving when I felt my phone vibrate. It was Tori calling so I picked up. The phone was already synched to my car's Bluetooth.

"Hey Tori what's up?"

"Do I have to come pick you up?" She asked.

"For what?"

"For the party dummy. I have to pick Kenz up. Do you need me to pick you up also?"

"Uhhh.....I don't know Tori. I'm on my way to the park now. Dave and I are hanging out."

"Uhooohhh.....is it like a date?" She asked.

I laughed at the sound she made. "No Tori, it's not a date. We just wanted to catch up. Do you think he's the reason why Carl has been acting weird towards me?" I asked her.

Today was even worse. Carl didn't sit with us at lunch. He was with the football guys and the cheerleaders. Maddie was laughing with him and touching him and he allowed her.

I know I don't have any right to be mad at him. He's not my boyfriend or anything but the sight made me want to go over there and hit both of their heads together.

Ughhh.....jealousy is a really ugly feeling.

I plan on talking to him on Monday whether he likes it or not. He needs to know that I don't like Dave___ in case that's what he thinks___but him. I don't know if he still feels the same way about me but at least I'll get it off my chest and he'll be responsible for any further action he takes depending on his reaction to what I tell him.

"Isla, Carl is just behaving like a hormonal pregnant woman. Don't worry, he'll come around." She assured.

"Tori you don't get it. Did you see how he was with Maddie today? I felt so frustrated watching them and having her flaunt him to my face."

The line fell silent for a while. I thought she had already hung up when she spoke.

"Isla are you saying that you......" she trailed off.

I sighed. "Yes Tori. You're right. I like him Tori. I'm sorry for not telling you sooner."

"Ahhhhhh," she equaled before shouting. "I knew it. I fucking knew it. I just wanted to hear you say it. I'm so happy you admitted it. I'm literally doing my happy dance right now."

"You can be so evil sometimes." I said and she laughed.

"Tell me something I don't know sweetheart. Go break Dave's cute little heart."

What did she mean by that. "Umm what do mean by break Dave's heart?"

"Ughhh Isla, you are smart but can also be so dumb and oblivious at the same time. It's so obvious that the guy has feelings for you."

Dave having feelings for me is something I didn't foresee. So Carl has been jealous all along that's why he acted like that. That means that Carl still likes me.

I shook my head to clear out my selfish thoughts. I have to confirm everything with Dave first.

"Tori, I'll call you back later. I have to confirm something."
