"What??!!" He exclaimed. My heart flew into my throat and I felt like I was gonna throw it up.
"Why didn't you tell me this before?"
"I wanted to honestly, I did. But I've never found the right time. We were not talking the time I got the offer for the ad. Remember that day I woke up in your house after the incident, your mum called me when I got home that was when she told me. The person your mum assigned as an agent to me, Darby, called me on Monday morning and told me about the audition. I don't know how this would affect our relationship. If you don't want me to go, don't worry, I won't. I want us to be together regardless so I won't go. I'll turn down the offer and I'll also try to get into a university in LA so that we can be together. I'll......I'll call Darby now and tell her not to worry about anything. I'll call off the deal for the ad, even though I've signed the contract, I'll find a way to terminate it. I'll.....I'll......."
"Isla shut up." He said in a stern voice. "What are you even blabbing about? Are you listening to yourself? Do you even know what you're saying?"
"I.....I don't know. I've been thinking about it a lot. Maybe that's why I've been stalling about telling you this___I don't___"
"Isla, shut up." He said again. "I want you to do the ad. Go for the audition, ace it, get the role, and shoot the movie. Do you know what this means?"
My heart was hammering in my chest. "I hope it doesn't mean that we have to break up or something. I don't care about the ad or the movie if that's what it means. I don't care about anything if it means not being with you."
"Jeez......Isla, again shut up. You just keep saying rubbish. It means that my girlfriend is going to be an actress. My own girlfriend is going to be a freaking actress. I'm so proud of you." He gushed and grinned.
My mouth opened and closed. I glared at him. "If that was what you wanted to say then why did you let me say all those things? Now I feel like a fool. Ughhh Carl, I feel like killing you right now."
He laughed and pinched my cheek. "You're so cute. You should see your face right now." He brought out his phone and took a picture.
"See how red you look," he laughed again. "That day, I was feeling so nervous. I didn't know how to feel or what to think about my interview but you helped me. You told me something. You said, and I quote, you shouldn't let the possibilities of something happening stop you from going for what you want. You are smart and talented. You should be happy that people has noticed this and for the record, when you ace that audition, you shouldn't feel lucky because they would be lucky to have you." He said and kissed my cheek.
I was grinning so wide now.
"Plus it's fun to hear how much you love me. You wanted to give up your dream for me. Now that touched me." He said and put my hand on his chest.
I rolled my eyes and slapped his chest.
"Owww.....that hurt." He said in mock pain.
"Buckle up hunny, we have a journey ahead of us." I said. He grinned, buckled his seatbelt and connected his phone to the speaker. He is in charge of music.

The town I grew up in was a three to four hour drive from where we live now depending on traffic. We finally reached the town and my first stop was at Mrs Kim's. She's the sweet, middle aged Asian woman that owns a flower shop not too far from the town's cemetery.
I parked in front of the shop and came down. Carl followed out.
"What are we doing here?"
"I want to say hi to Mrs Kim and get flowers for my mum." I said and he nodded.
