Finally exams are over. Hello winter break.... I'm so excited. I just hope dad will be able to come back for Christmas.
"So what are we doing?" I asked.
"I'm excited. Mum and I are going shopping this afternoon for Christmas decorations." Tori said.
"My mum and dad usually decorates the house on the first week of December but we promised my grandma that we would spend the entire holidays with her so I have to go home now because we're leaving for DC tomorrow." Kenz said and I sighed.
Yes they are my best friends but I couldn't help but feel a little pang of jealousy and pain. My mum and I used to go shopping for Christmas also. Dad would follow us if he was around but now, everything has changed. There is even a possibility that I'll spend Christmas alone.
"Guys common, we're hanging in Carl's house." Caleb announced.
"I'm coming with you guys. Kenz and Tori have to go home now," I told him. I hugged my besties goodbye and went over to meet Carl, Caleb and Jace. Apparently, Owen and Josh also has other plans.
"Let's go boys. I call shotgun." I said. "I wanted to call shotgun." Jace grumbled.
"Too late Buddy." I grinned. I got to the front seat of Carl car while Jace and Caleb were at the back.
I've never been to Carl's house but I've heard that his family is very rich and his mum owns a lot of big hotels around. He once told me that his parents are divorced.
After about thirty to forty five minutes, the car stopped. I didn't even realize that we entered the very long driveway of Carl's house. No, not a house 'cause the building in front of me was not a house. It's a freaking mansion. I nearly tripped with my mouth open.
"No way," I muttered. "Close your mouth Isla, you might catch flies." Jace laughed. I rolled my eyes at him. The inside of the house was more breathtaking.
"Carl is this one of your mum's hotels?" I asked in amazement. "Nope." He said. "Wow. This place is remarkable." He just shrugged.
"Nick!!!!" Carl yelled. I'm guessing Nick is his brother. After some minutes a boy with dark hair and beautiful blue eyes came down. His hair was ruffled like he just stood up from the bed.
"Why do you have to shout my name like that. I was sleeping and I literally fell from the bed." He grumbled.
"Shut up," Carl said and Nick made a face at him.
So cute....
"Is mum around?" Carl asked. "Did you see her car outside?" Nick asked back and Carl shook his head. "Then don't ask me any silly questions." Nick retorted. Caleb, Jace and I burst into laughter.
"Burn!!!" Jace yelled still laughing. "I didn't know we had company." Nick said.
"Hey lil bro," Caleb said smiling. "I've told you, I'm not little." Nick glared at him and he laughed.
"Oh my!!! Am I in heaven 'cause I'm sure I'm seeing an angel right now," he said when he saw me. I smiled. He stretched out his hand. "The name's Richardson. Nicolas Richardson. Nick for short. Only mum calls me Nicholas and that's when she's really angry. I'm the better, smatter, sweeter and more interesting brother." He flashed me a grin when I took his hand. I laughed at his introduction.
"Hmmm charming. Nice to meet you Nick. There was really no need for whole introduction. I already knew that you're the better brother even before meeting you." I laughed.
