Maddison

"I love you." I sighed happily. Mike and I were sitting on his couch. My arms were curled around his waist and my head was leaning on his shoulder. His aftershave was the most relaxing smell in the world to me. It blocked away the scent of beer and junk food that seemed permanently present in his apartment. I guess that was the price he had to pay for living with three other guys.

"Me too, babe." He said before lifting my chin so he could give me a kiss. Whenever I was with him, my worries went away. I loved everything about him. His messy hair, the dimples in his cheeks, even his earrings although I didn't like them when I first met him. Now I couldn't think of him without those earrings.

"Move, I have to show you something." He said and it took me a few seconds to obey. My body felt cold leaving his.

"What do you need to show me?" I asked curiously. I tried to tame my brown locks with my hands because I figured they must've looked like a huge mess.

His brown eyes locked on my blue ones and an easy smile appeared on his face. "It's a present." He told me.

"A present?" I repeated. That was enough to get my attention. I sat up straight and waited eagerly for him to come back with my present.

After a few minutes of disappearing into another room, he came back carrying a small box with a little bow on it.

"It sucks that I had to miss your sweet sixteen, so this is my way of making it up to you." He said while plopping back down on the couch and handing me the little box. I let out a little squeal of happiness and gave Mike a big kiss before I opened the lid carefully.

"It's beautiful!" I gasped.

"I knew you'd say that." Mike winked. He grabbed the bracelet with the dreamcatcher charm and wrapped it around my wrist.

"So why a dreamcatcher?" I asked while admiring the silver bracelet.

When Mike didn't say anything, I looked up at him. It seemed like he wasn't looking at me since there was a distant look in his eyes.

"Hmm? Sorry I was just admiring how beautiful you looked. It's because you're a dream come true of course." He said and I attacked him with a big hug.

"How did you celebrate?" Mike asked when I finally released him from the hug.

"I didn't. I mean, my mom bought me a cake." I shrugged.

"Put some clothes on." He suddenly said while grabbing my hand so I had to get up with him.

"I thought you liked me with your shirt on." I pouted. Mike came up to me and cupped my ass firmly, causing me to gasp.

"It drives me insane." He said with his lips a few inches from mine. "But we're going out." He told me. After a peck on my lips he threw my clothes at me. They'd been scattered all over the floor.

A few minutes later we were standing outside in the cold. Mike grabbed my hand and his fingerless gloves warmed my hand a little bit.

"Where are we going?" I asked after a few minutes of walking. He still hadn't explained anything but he was walking pretty fast. I had trouble keeping up with him.

"I figured the roof would be a great place to celebrate your birthday." Mike told me.

"What did I do to deserve you?" I asked. We'd had great times sitting on that roof. It was an abandoned building and the roof looked over the entire city. I loved looking at all the lights and movement, especially when I had Mike to keep me warm.
