Can't hang out later. Tomorrow? x

I noticed the text from Carter the moment my alarm went off. Ugh, I hated my alarm and the text wasn't exactly great news either. Such a great day to start my morning and by morning I mean noon.  I shot him a text back.

I guess ...

Grabbing my clothes, I went to my bathroom so I could take a quick shower. When I realised it was the last support group meeting I felt like jumping in a fucking field with flowers and bunnies. Finally. The stupid meetings had been a source of frustration instead of a way to cope with them.

Right before I jumped into the shower, I received another text from Carter.

Aww, can't wait to see me huh? ;) I knew you had a heart in there somewhere x

I grinned and shook my head. It was nice having someone like Carter to open up to. He listened and cared and didn't run away from me or tried to get with me because I was rich. It was new and I liked it. I think I even liked him even though I fought so hard not to.

I told him about the fact that I had a sister. Obviously I didn't tell Carter how I got that information, I'm not that stupid, but he'd listened to me and encouraged me to talk to my parents. I hadn't done it yet because I hadn't seen them in a while. I tried to confront Donna with it and she got very nervous and made up some excuse to not talk to me. Yeah, she was definitely asked not to talk about it to me, that much was clear.

After my shower I decided to go to the cemetary. I didn't expect to find any information but just some confirmation would be fine. When I'd told Carter what I was about to do, he suggested to cancel his plans and come with me. I declined, it was something I had to do by myself.

Plus, the cemetary wasn't so far from the support group so I was killing two birds with one stone.

A few people were already there with some flowers and I wondered if that was the etiquette for visiting graves. The last time I went to a cemetary I must've been six years old give or take. My mom didn't want me around sad places because being sad isn't good for your skin. No, I'm not joking about this. Although now I think maybe she was just trying to avoid going altogether. Just like they avoided every adversity in their lives only this one couldn't be solved by throwing a shitload of money at it.

I strolled, looking at all the different gravestones. Some graves were well taken care of, filled with fresh flowers and relatively clean. Others were withered and abandoned. The creepy baby and angel statues seemed a bit too over the top and added to the eerie atmosphere. I bet some goth kids loved getting high here at midnight.

In the back there were a few little houses shaped like chapels. There was five of these family graves and I shouldn't have been surprised when I saw my own last name plastered on one of them. Obviously our corpses were too superior to be buried around the peasant people.

My first instinct was to knock on the door but I soon realised how retarded it would be. It's not like a dead relative would open up and give me a warm welcome. The grave house was cold and not as creepy as I'd imagined. There were only a few caskets present from my grandparents and a distant uncle. The last one I spotted was Amelia's. It was smaller than the others but that didn't surprise me. I suddenly got very aware of my own mortality and angry because my parents had kept this hidden from me all this time. There were fresh flowers next to it so I knew my parents had paid their staff to take care of this.

At least I knew they hadn't completely forgotten about their eldest daughter.

"I don't know what's worse sis, being in that grave or living with those people we call parents. I kinda hate you for leaving me with them but I can't blame you." I said. "I sound insane, talking to a bunch of dead people. It was nice meeting you Amelia but I have to go to a support group now. Does it surprise you I'm fucked up? Probably not." I chuckled dryly and wanted to run out of there when my laugh echoed.
