It happened so fast and there was no opening to prevent it. After Hanzo's orders, Nagato was conflicted... but Yahiko wasn't going to allow it. In charging forward, he slain himself and sacrificed his life for Konan.

Nagato wasn't been the same ever since. The pain is overwhelming...

I've got this shake in my legs
Shaking the thoughts from my head

I crack and I pour

He's been shaking for over twelve hours. All rational thoughts have excused himself and all responses are absolute nonsense. A part of his heart shattered with Yahiko's words:

"You and Konan... you've gotta stay alive somehow... You're... the savior of... the world... You... can... bring... real-"

They weren't together, but it sure felt like they were sometimes. All Nagato knows is that from the moment he saw Yahiko, his love for the other man grew and rapidly.

Those words just destroyed him. For a split second, he considered killing himself as well. But... not all of his words are- were depressing. For example, the way 'Nagato' would roll off his tongue... oh, man.

Nagato doesn't want to eat. The pain is unbearable, emotionally and physically. He feels empty, like a part of him suddenly disappeared.

And the worst part is that's exactly what happened.

Nagato misses Yahiko. That's all there is to it. It especially hurts after losing your parents, your home, living in hell for months and having a packed conscious.

Life is the literal definition of pain.

Konan is sad too, but it isn't comparable to Nagato. He's spent the last day sulking and pondering all of his life decisions. Why couldn't he stop this?

Is he even worth anymore without Yahiko?

After rethinking multiple times, he comes to the conclusion: this must be what true pain feels like. Losing your beloved cuts sharper than any knife.

I've never seen this ship which is ironic because Nagato literally destroyed the Leaf Village because he was still distressed over Yahiko and his parents' death but y'know, that's fine
