CHAPTER 38

“Come on,” hinila ni Lavion si Yosh na sumama sakaniyang tumalon sa dagat.

“H-Hindi ko po talaga kaya” agad na suway ni Yosh na nakakapit ngayon sa pulpit ng deck dahil ayaw niyang sumama kay Lavion.

Tumatawang hinihila siya ni Lavion. “Come on, you have a life jacket” pag-iimbita na naman nito ulit.

Umiling ito na parang maiiyak na. So then, Lavion let go of him and she jumped from the deck to the water of the sea.

Tumindi ang kabang nararamdaman ni Yosh nang makita hindi umahon si Lavion mula sa tubig. Nataranta siya.

“Ms. Gauge?” tawag niya rito. Tumingin siya sa paligid kung sakaling lumitaw ito. Hindi kaya ito nalunod? Pero marunong naman siyang lumangoy!

“Ms. Gauge?!” tawag niya muli at nilakasan ang boses.  He's gonma cry soon if she won't come up.

Agad siyang napatingin sa kaniyang unahan nang umahon don si Lavion malayo sa yacht kung nasan siya.

“Hi!” pagbati sakaniya ni Lavion mula sa malayo habang winagayway ang kaniyang kamay.

“Okay lang po ba kayo?!” sigaw nito upang marinig siya nito.

“Yes! You should come here with me in the water!” pag-iimbita niya muli at lumangoy palapit sa yacht.

“Come,” she requested.

Napalunok si Yosh habang nakatingin sa malawak na asul na karagatan. Hindi ba siya nito hihigupin? Hindi ba siya malulunod? Hindi kaya siya magkaka-cramps??

“Hurry, baby boy! Jumped down! You have life jacket with you, you won’t drown.”

Huminga siya nang malalim at lumapit sa pinakagilid ng kaniyang kinakatayuan habang nakahawak sa pulpit.

Tumingin siya sa baba. Bakit natatakot parin siya kahit marunong na siyang lumangoy? Isang buwan na niyang pinag-aralan ang lumangoy at ngayong nasa dagat na siya ay naduduwag na siya?

“I’ll be here, just jump” Lavion made an inviting smile that made his heart race.

He suddenly felt a bit of confident because of that so then, he closed his eyes before jumping into the water. He wagged his feet, not feeling the ground. So then he floated in the water, making him breathe and swallowed some of the water, making him flinch because it’s salty.
“It’s salty-"

Tumawa si Lavion at lumapit rito.

“You did a good job.”

Huminga ito nang huminga habang ginagalaw ang kaniyang mga paa na hindi makaabot ng buhangin sa dagat. Nanginginig ang kaniyang katawan dahil alam niyang nasa malalim silang parte nang dagat. Napahawak siya kay Lavion.

“W-Wala po bang hihila sa’kin?”

She chuckled, “Nothing, so don’t worry.”

“Wala po bang shark rito??” Tumitingin tingin ito sa paligid. “Pati po ahas? Wala po?”

Umatras si Lavion at medyo lumayo sakaniya.

“We are safe, baby boy. Nothing will harm you. Come to me.” Inabot niya ang kaniyang kamay para papuntahin ito sakaniya.

At dahil takot si Yosh na mapag-iwanan sa gitna ng dagat ay nilangoy niya ito nang hindi isinusubo ang ulo sa dagat. Takot siya. Takot siyang tumingin sa baba.

Ngunit habang palapit na siya ay lumalayo sakaniya si Lavion habang tumatawa.

“huwag niyo po akong iwan, Ms. Gauge” he pouted, trying his best to be near her. So then, because he looks pitiful, she swam towards him as she kissed his lips.

“It’s okay. I won’t leave” she comforted, tugging his hair softly while looking at his eyes.

“How do you feel? Now, that you have finally swam in the sea?”

“Natatakot po ako… pero napakaganda po sa pakiramdam na natuto na po akong lumangoy… at… maginaw po talaga… salamat po sainyo.”

Natawa siya nang kunti at kinurot ang ilong nito.

“You’re so cute.”

Tinitigan naman siya nito at maya maya ay hinawakan ang likod ng kaniyang ulo.

“pwede po ba kitang halikan?”

She was stunned a bit but then she smiled after.
“Go on.”

Dahan dahan namang nilapit ni Yosh ang kaniyang ulo sakaniya at pinaglapat ang kanilang mga labi. Lavion pressed her lips closer as she opened her mouth, inviting him to do the same. And then he moved his lips, slow and passionate. A smile formed in her lips. So this is how Tashiel would kiss passionately?

INABUTAN ni Lavion si Yosh ng refreshment drink bago umupo sa tabi nito. They are in the deck of the yacht while watching the city and the mountains behind it, from a their view in the ocean.

“It’s been a while since I had this view in my eyes.”
She remembers Tashiel. The first man to make her see this kind of view.

“Maganda po,” pagsasalita naman ni Yosh habang nakatingin rin sakanilang unahan.

“Yes. It looks peaceful like there is no problem.”

Yosh just looked at how peaceful she looks like and then he wondered. Looking down at his feet, he wanted to ask something he really wanted to know. It has passed almost a year since he met Lavion, a semester of being just an acquaintance and a semester of being a suitor. And it’s been 2 weeks since she told him that she is his so it means they had been dating for two weeks but he is not certain about her feelings towards him. He wanted to ask her this from the begging but he is afraid that he might insult her or she might be disappointed of him.

He raised his head to look at her who’s eyes are still on the front. With the breeze, some of Lavion’s red hair was stroking some part of her face and her lips. Now he was looking down at those lips he never imagine he could kiss. How he wanted to kiss that longer…

He looked back at her eyes as Lavion turned her head to him, making him view her full face in a closer look.

“Can I …” he started speaking, making Lavion attentive. “… call you ‘Love’?”

Nanatiling nakatingin si Lavion sa mga mapupugay nitong mga mata.

“I… wanted to get closer to you. I wanted to hold you closer and know you better. I wanted you to be mine not because I’m yours. I wanted you to really like me… “

Lavion made a small smile as she put her right hand on his head. She leaned close to his face as she took a peck on his lips and looked at his eyes.

“I like you,”
She hugged him, “okay?” She held him tight as her eyes went blank.

I don’t know anymore, Yosh. I don’t know.
