"Good morning, children. Ordinary Wizarding Level examinations. O-W-Ls. More commonly known as OWLs. Study hard and you will be rewarded. Fail to do so, and the consequences may be severe. Your previous instruction in this subject has been disturbingly uneven. But you'll be pleased to know, from now on... you will be following a carefully structured, Ministry-approved... course of defensive magic. Yes?"
"There's nothing in here about using defensive spells?" Hermione said.
"Using spells? Well, I can't imagine why you would need to use spells in my classroom."
"We're not gonna use magic?"
"You'll be learning about defensive spells in a secure, risk-free way."
"What use is that? If we're
attacked, it won't be risk-free." Harry said.
"Students will raise their hands when they speak in my class. It is the view of the Ministry... that a theoretical knowledge will be sufficient... to get you through your examinations... which, after all, is what school is all about.
"And how's theory supposed to
prepare us for what's out there?"
"There is nothing out there, dear. Who do you imagine wants to attack children like yourself?"
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe Lord Voldemort."
"Now, let me make this quite plain. You have been told... that a certain dark wizard is at large once again. This is a lie."
"It's not a lie. I saw him. I fought him."
"Detention, Mr. Potter."
"I fought Voldemort! He really did come back!"
"Enough! Enough. See me later, Mr. Potter. My office."
Class finally ended. Stephanie, Draco, and Daphne left the classroom.
"I like that Potter's getting in trouble but for some reason she just annoys me. Maybe it's her voice or the fact that she wears a lot of pink." Stephanie said.
"Her fashion choice is atrocious. It's hideous! That's too much pink." Daphne chimed in.
"I'm going to go find Crabbe and Goyle. See you later Steph." Draco gave a quick kiss on her cheek and left.
"Well I'm free and I want to hang out with my best friend."
"I'm free as well. What do you wanna do?"
"Do you wanna walk around and catch up?"
"Of course I do. Let's go." The two walked around for a while, talking about what's been going on in their lives. The two walk to the courtyard and see Draco and his gang bullying a third year.
"He's so cute.." A random Gryffindor said.
"Who the blonde over there?" The first year next to her said.
"Yes. He's so hot.." Stephanie and Daphne eavesdropped on their conversation.
"Why don't you go talk to him?"
"He doesn't like me."
"You don't know that. Just go talk to him!"
"Jessie.. as your cousin I think you shouldn't assume stuff like that."
"Huh why?"
"He hates our kind. He's a pureblood. He's a Malfoy. He hates muggleborns and Gryffindors. He'll never like me."
"Plus he has a girlfriend." Stephanie and Daphne revealed themselves to the two.
"S-Snape! Hello.. I-I uhh.."
"Are you talking about my boyfriend?"
"You're not worthy enough for him!" Jessie the first year said. Stephanie and Daphne bursted into laughter.
"Jessie stop! Don't say that to the Slytherin princess.."
"Slytherin princess? She looks like no princess to me."
"Darling I'm a whole goddess compared to you. You should be lucky that we're even breathing in the same air, you pathetic mudblood!"
"I'm so sorry Snape. Ignore her." The Gryffindor fifth year said.
"What's your name?"
"Ruby Brown.."
"Listen Brown. You and your obnoxious cousin need to shut up. Actually, we should listen to your cousin's advice. Wanna talk to him?"
"N-No thank you."
"Draco! Come here!" Draco went over to the group. "Get this Draco! This pathetic mudblood has a crush on you!" Ruby blushed and looked down at the ground. Draco bursted into laughter. "Brown we should duel to see who's worthy enough to have Draco." Stephanie said as an excuse to duel her. She wanted to show the muggleborn her place.
"Do it Ruby!" Jessie said.
"I-I.." Stephanie grabbed Ruby's wrist and pulled her out to the courtyard.
"Ready?" Stephanie took out her wand.
"N-No.."
"I'll let you go first."
"Expelliarmus!" Stephanie's wand flew out of her hand, but when it did she reached out and caught it.
"Petrificus Totalus!" The girl froze. "Flipendo!" The girl then flew into a wall. "I win! As always. I recommend that you stop talking about my boyfriend or you might end up like that dragon last year."
"Good job Steph!" Draco kissed her, she kissed back.
"Ugh go make out somewhere else." Daphne said as she separated the two.
"Oh shut it Daph! I have to go help my dad restock potion ingredients. See you guys later!"
"Bye Steph!" The two said. Stephanie walked off and headed to the potions classroom. She bumped into Pansy on her way.
"Hey Pansy."
"Hey Stephanie."
"How are you?"
"I'm good, you?"
"I'm a bit tired. Anyways have you talked to Granger yet?"
"Yeah I made fun of her hair. I feel bad for bullying her but it's an excuse for me to talk to her.. if I just approach her and I act nice then she's going to suspect something.."
"I know.. everyone thinks Slytherins are evil and up to something. Well I have to go. Good luck Pans."
"Thank you Steph. I'll talk to you at dinner."
"Bye!"
