Chapter 32 Preparing for the Ball

The Yule ball was only a week away. Everyone was planning what they will wear and who will be their dates.

"Ok Daph here's the plan!" Stephanie said as she sat down at the table in the Great Hall. "Today we are going to shop for dresses, jewelry, whatever we need ok?"

"Mhm."

"Great. How are you doing your hair?"

"I'm not sure yet. What are you doing?"

"I'm just going to curl it I guess.."

"Ok do you want me to do your makeup?"

"Sure. You're the best at makeup. I don't know how you do it."

"Practice darling."

"I'll be right back I have to talk to um someone..."

"Ok have fun."

Stephanie went over to the Ravenclaw table. She went to Luna and her friends.

"Looney Lovegood I need to talk to you. Follow me." Luna followed Stephanie to their usual spot at the black lake. "I'm sorry I called you that nickname.."

"It's ok Stephanie."

"Right um Luna I'm scared about what they'll think of me showing up with you. I mean you're amazing and all but I don't know.."

"I get it Steph, you don't want to come out yet to everyone which is perfectly fine. I'll always love you and I'm fine if you go with someone else so you don't have to feel like this."

"Luna.."

"I'm alright Steph. I'll be happy with whatever decision you make. I'll be happy if you date anyone but me. I won't be jealous or angry at you ever ok? If you're uncomfortable with coming out then go with someone else."

"Why.. you're so supportive of me. If this was Draco he would've been jealous and angry."

"I was taught to be supportive. He wasn't. I could care less about blood status while he does. He is very careful in choosing his friends and I'm assuming he hasn't experienced any form of love other than you. Are you really uncomfortable with coming out to everyone Stephanie?" She nodded. "Very well then, please take someone else for me."

"I'm sorry Luna."

"It's alright. I love you." Luna and Stephanie shared a quick kiss before they separated. Stephanie went to try and find a certain someone she knew who wouldn't have a date.

"Stephanie!"

"Potter. I was just looking for you. I have a question for you."

"So do I, can I go first?"

"Sure."

"Would you like to go to the Yule Ball with me?"

"Yes but we're going as friends only. I'm sorry but I don't have any romantic feelings for you."

"That's ok and yeah I was just planning on taking you as friends. Also why did you agree? What about Malfoy?"

"He's going with my enemy so I'll go with his."

"Ohh so what was your question?"

"I was going to ask you for the Yule Ball but we already settled that so yeah. Also you better be a good dancer."

"I'm not really good at dancing.." Stephanie sighed.

"We have a lot of work ahead. You're lucky that I know how to dance. Meet me in the potions classroom at five ok? We'll practice there."
