Chapter 60 Attempt Number One

"Do you have to go Draco?"

"Yes I'm sorry Steph."

"Please be careful.. I love you."

"I love you too." The two shared a kiss that lasted a few seconds.

"Come on Draco!" Lucius interrupted the two.

"Goodbye Steph."

"Bye Draco." Stephanie watched as Draco left with the other death eaters. They were going to ambush Harry and the people protecting him. Everyone left the manor except for Narcissa and Stephanie.

"I'll be in the shower dear. If you need anything tell one of the elves."

"Yes Narcissa.." Stephanie went into her room. She locked her door and opened a drawer. She pulled out a knife. "I need to end this before it happens. I can't.. I don't want to see anyone getting hurt." Stephanie sat at her desk and began writing her suicide note.

'I can't do this anymore. I'm very sorry. I don't want to see my loved ones getting killed in this war. I hope you understand. I love you all. I'm sorry Lucius for not giving your son a good partner. l'm sorry Narcissa, my second mother to me. I know you always wanted a daughter to shop with, to buy a wedding dress for. I'm sorry Daphne for being stupid. I know you'll hate me forever but please just know you'll always be my best friend, even if we're not in the same world. I'm sorry Blaise. I know you'll miss my remarks and your favorite quidditch captain. It was my first time being captain and we won the quidditch cup that year. You were the best co-captain ever. I'm sorry Theodore for mistrusting you at first. I just wanted what was best for Daphne. I trust you now, of course. I hope you two spend your whole lives together, in happiness. I'm sorry Crabbe and Goyle for mistaking you two. Although you don't have brains, you have strength and courage. I'm sorry Luna for hiding our friendship. You're not weird and you shouldn't listen to them. You're unique and I love it. Don't change for anyone ever. I'm sorry Pansy for hurting you in the past. Even though we got off on the wrong foot, I still count you as a good friend. You always stand up for your peers and I encourage it. I'm sorry Draco. I love you very much. I'm sorry we didn't get married. I was really hoping we would, but I can't take it anymore. No words can express my love for you. All those memories at Hogwarts made me very happy. Stephanie put the letter on her dresser. She looked at herself in the mirror, tears streaming down her eyes.

"You're pathetic. Stupid girl.. Goodbye Eve. You were a great companion. I'll miss you. Goodbye world." Stephanie grabbed the knife and pointed it at her stomach. She raised the knife and jabbed it into her skin. Stephanie fell to the floor, blood spilling everywhere. The sound of her hitting the floor alerted Narcissa. She ran to her room and tried to open the door, which was locked.

"Stephanie!? Are you ok!?" No response came. Narcissa got a key and unlocked the door. She gasped and kneeled next to the girl. "Stephanie! Why!? You can't leave us! We need you.. Wake up! Don't close your eyes! Stay with me Stephanie!"

Stephanie opened her eyes and was greeted by a bright light.

"You idiot! What is wrong with you!? Why would you do this to me!?" Stephanie looked around and noticed she in a guest bedroom, her stomach wrapped with bandages. Stephanie looked at all the faces staring at her. She turned her attention back to the speaker. "Answer me Stephanie! Why the hell would you do that to us!?" Draco yelled at the girl, he was crying.
