Chapter 57 Layla's Ring

"I don't need your help Steph."

"I don't care. Just let me come."

"Ugh fine." The two made their way into the room of requirements. Draco takes off a tapestry and reveals the vanishing cabinet. Stephanie wanders around, looking at stuff.

"Oh my Merlin this is so pretty!" Stephanie put a crown on her head. It had blue jewels and a bird on top, Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem.

"Stop playing with that and come here."

"I just came to look at stuff jeez."

"Then be quiet."

"Rude." Stephanie put the diadem down and walked around some more.

"Steph let's go. I'm done."

"Ok." She exited the room with Draco. "I'm going to the library wanna come?"

"Why?"

"I'm researching this ring. Me and Layla have friendship rings and last night I was talking to Layla."

"You were talking to Layla?"

"Well, I talked to myself kind of. I asked for a sign that she forgives me and I heard the ring shaking in my drawer. That's definitely a sign, so I'm researching why it did that."

"Ok. I guess I'll come to research some other stuff."

"Great." They went into the library. Stephanie scanned the bookshelves until she found a book about jewelry, not normal jewelry though. It was about jewelry that had special abilities. Stephanie sat down at a table, Draco across from her.

"I'm sorry that I lied to you."

"What?" Stephanie started flipping pages.

"Remember during the summer, maybe two years ago, I told you I bleached my hair. Yeah I was lying."

"No kidding. I wasn't born yesterday."

"Wait then why did you react that way? You were shocked."

"I was playing along, you idiot. Why suddenly bring that up?"

"I was just thinking back on our good days. Where we were happy and not depressed."

"Oh I found it!"

"Hm?"

"The rings of morte. Morte means dead in French. The two rings originate in France and was made by Marie Antoinette. Wait she's a wizard!? Wow I never knew that.. Anyways, she created the rings so she can be connected to her husband so if one of them passes, they can still communicate with each other. Once she died, the rings got lost. Well now we know where they are. The rings have different ways to communicate. If the deceased person is trying to communicate, the rings can either glow or shake. If the ring glows, the deceased person is saying 'no' if the ring shakes the deceased person is saying 'yes'. They can only answer yes or no questions until the other owner of the ring passes. The two will then be united."

"Wow.. that's amazing. At least you can still talk to her."

"Mhm. It won't be the same though, but at least I still have her spirit with me. Come on let's go get lunch." The two head to the Great Hall. Suddenly, Draco stops in shock. Right in front of the two is Katie Bell, alive. Draco rushes out of the hall. "Draco?" Harry rushes past the girl. "Potter!" She chases after the boys. She follows Harry into the boys bathroom.

"You cursed her didn't you Malfoy?" Draco casts a spell at Harry. Stephanie watched as the two boys get into a fight. "S-Stop! Both of you stop!" They continued.

"Cruci-"

"Sectumsempra!" Draco falls to the ground, bleeding and surrounded by water. Stephanie lets out a horrified scream. She rushes to the bleeding boy.

"What have you done Potter!? I can't lose him! I already lost Layla and you tried to kill him!" Snape rushes in and aids Draco. Harry backs away from the scene and exits the bathroom. Stephanie follows the boy. "Stop!" She grabbed the boy by his shirt. "How do you know that spell!?"

"I-I saw it in a book. I didn't know what it did. In the book it said to use the spell on enemies."

"What book!?"

"It belonged to the Half-blood prince."

"Where the hell did you find that book!?"

"In the potions classroom."

"Oh my Merlin. Give me that book!"

"Why?"

"It's mine."

"You're not the Half-blood prince."

"Yeah but I know who is and I have to return it to them."

"No.."

"As a prefect you will obey my order and hand over the book!" Harry sighed and took the book out of his jacket. He handed it to the girl. "Thank you. However, that doesn't give you the right to use an unknown spell against someone! You could've killed him! He's the only reason I'm still here! You know it's been a rough week for me. If I lose another person I-I.." Stephanie sighed. "I hate you. Goodbye Potter."

"I'm sorry... I really didn't know what it would do."

"Whatever. You should know better."

"Stephanie?" Draco asked as he woke up. They were in the hospital wing.

"Draco!" She hugged him tightly.

"Ow.. what happened?"

"Potter.. he attacked you."

"Oh.."

"Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah.. today is the day."

"Hm?"

"I have to kill him."

"Draco.. good luck."

"I need it. I broke the vial with the Liquid Luck and it spilled all over the floor.."

"Draco! I won that and it didn't even go to good use!"

"I'm sorry Steph."

"It's fine. No matter what happens today, I'll always love you. Until the end Draco. I'll be with you until the end."

"So will I. I love you Stephanie."

"I love you too Draco." The two shared a kiss. It wasn't a kiss full of joy, but a kiss full of sadness.

What happens if Draco fails?

What happens if Dumbledore survives?

What happens if he can't kill him?

What if they get busted?

Whatever happens, Stephanie will always love him and Draco will always care for her. Their love is what keeps them stable. It's what motivates them. It's what gets them going throughout the day. They will always love each other no matter the circumstances.

I'm so sorry that these chapters are getting shorter and shorter. I'm very busy and I'm getting less inspiration. I don't really like the 6th-7th years in Harry Potter because it's so sad and depressing :( I really like the happy moments so I have less inspiration to write. I appreciate your support on my story :) I love you all ❤️❤️
