"Do we have to go for ice-cream?" Aden asked as he pulled his headphones from his bag and plugged them into his phone, the idea of being with Clarke made his head hurt, he wasn't sure what it was, but he didn't like her, not really.
Though it tired him up every night as he failed to understand how he could love her, but still not like at the same time.
He wanted to just hate her, period and that'd be easy. Part of him hated how easy it was for Clarke to take them in, give them a home, a future, hated how they'd struggled their whole lives and now they were back on the world's raider as though nothing ever happened.
Before they were nothing nobody knew of them and those that saw them on the streets walked far away from them , making an invisible circle around Madi and him.
"Yes," Clarke simply replied, Clarke wanted to ask Aden what his problem was but she knew exactly what his problem was. He hated her, hated the fact that she got to be with Madi, that Madi loved her, maybe even more than she could ever love their own mother.
"Why?" Aden shoved his hands deep into his pickets and slouched, as if trying to hide.
"Because I promised Madi we'd go and we're meeting up with Lexa, what's with the million questions?" Clarke gripped the steering wheel tighter as she felt herself getting worked up.
"The dead girlfriend that turned out to be alive?" Aden chuckled to himself, "Your life is Fucked up."
"Language." Clarke scolded as she pulled up in front of the ice cream shop. "Just behave."
"You're not my mom." Aden said, putting his headsets on and exiting the car. Clarke chose to ignore him, he was picking a fight and she knew it.
"You ready princess?" Clarke turned to look at Madi who was busy playing candy crush on her tablet.
"Yep."
Madi clung to Clarke's side as they entered the shop, Aden was sitting on a booth at the very end, they were about to join him when Clarke spotted Lexa, they slipped into the booth and watched as Aden huffed and joined them.
"Do you want to see my tablet, Clarke said I could have it for homework and games, it's cool right?" Madi climbed down from next to Clarke and rounded to sit with Lexa.
"Looks pretty cool, Let's check it out," Lexa inthused as she scrolled through the tablet with the little girl who had managed to completely steal her heart. "You have candy crush, I'll download it and we can race, deal?"
"Yes!" Madi piped up, ready to open the game and play further.
"How about we get our shakes first," Clarke suggested, taking the tablet and putting it away in her bag. "Hey," She mouthed at Lexa
"How are you?" Lexa mouthed back
"Why are we whispering?" Madi joined in
"I don't know," Lexa gave a half shrugged, a big grin on her face.
"Can I have Strawberry?" Madi asked, her attention all to Lexa
"Yep," Clarke replied even though she clearly noticed that Madi was asking Lexa, she opened the menu for Madi.
"This is Aden," She threw her thumb towards him, "And Aden meet Lexa."
"What's up?" Lexa said casually
"Feeling a bit too old to be having shakes with a stranger," Aden replied, taking out his phone and pretending to be busy.
"I'm sorry," Clarke mouthed to Lexa, "Can you just be here with us, if not for me then Madi." Clarke said,
