"I mean, was it too sudden? Asking her on a date?" I ask lifting up the crown on my head that seemed to be slipping.
Casey, Lenny and I were currently surrounded in Lenny's room, having a tea party. My baby really seemed to want this and had went out of her way to even fill out an entire invitation for the two of us, formally inviting Casey and I to her party.
How could I say no to her?
"I don't think so..." Casey responds honestly. "I mean she said yes. Nina would've let you know she wasn't ready if it's not what she wanted."
Shit. I don't know...
I just didn't want to rush anything if she wasn't ready. I know she's going through something right now but I really want to fix my relationship.
I was also really nervous about how this date is going to go. I don't want to make her regret the decision on taking me up on it.
Fuck, I really hate where my minds at right now. It feels as if it were our first date all over again. I sigh, looking down at my plastic pastry. I must've been a little too quiet because Casey speaks up.
"Harry." She says making me snap my head up. "Dude, stop overthinking, I'm sure it's fine."
"I'm not overthinking." I mutter. "I'm just nervous about the date now. What if she doesn't want to go through with it anymore? Or what if after the date, she regrets it? I'm totally going to fuck this up for the both of us."
Casey, looks at me with a raise of an eyebrow. "Yeah...that's overthinking."
I anxiously start to twist my rings while my mind continues to roam worrisome thoughts.
"Auntie Casey, you're not drinking it." I hear Lenny tell my best friend. Casey gives Lenny a smile, bringing the toy tea cup up to her lips and taking a sip of the "potion" which was just blue Gatorade and apple juice mixed together.
As soon as Lenny's eyes leave Casey's face, she spits my daughters drink back into the cup and scrunches her nose. "Oh my god." She mutters. Lenny turns to her immediately and Casey gives her a wide fake smile. "It's so delicious."
Satisfied, my daughter turns back to give more of her drink to her dolls.
"Wait so- what exactly happened the other night? You never went into detail." She asks making my eyes widen.
Slowly, I can feel my face start to get hot and I let out an awkward cough into my fist. Casey gives me a wide grin and I'm shaking me head rapidly.
I already know what she thinks happened. "No." I warn. "Nothing happened."
"Oh, you two totally did it."
"What-no nothing happened." I repeat.
"I'm sure." She says sarcastically. "That's why you're blushing."
