Ever since we'd come back from our trip, Nina has been teasing the hell out of me and I was about near tired of it.

It started when we'd gone back to the house after visiting Gemma's shop, leaving marks all over my neck while we were getting into bed. She'd run her fingertips down my naked chest, to my abdominal area, snaking her fingers lower and lower...until she suddenly stopped.

I was willing to be as quiet as I could with her but instead, she tucked the blanket over our bodies, kissed me goodnight and turned away.

Thought she'd finally break once we'd gotten back home but again, she'd teased me and left me alone.

I was convinced she was doing this on purpose. I'd been taking a lot of control lately and Nina usually likes to take on the dominate roll. This was probably just a way to get back at me for doing just that.

I had just gotten back from Casey's.

She'd wanted to catch up for a bit at her place. The entire Finley situation seemed to go out the door and she seemed extremely fine if not amazing, which I loved for her.

In fact, Finley had actually quit her job and Casey hadn't heard of her since.

I've said this and I'll keep saying it again, I just want nothing but happiness for my best friend.

Pulling into Nina's driveway, I park and shut off my car, getting out of it and feeling the keys jingle against my palm as I walk further towards the house.

It was nearly 6:00pm and the sun was starting to go down but I was glad I'd made it before dark. I hate driving at night.

I grab onto the handle, letting myself in and shutting the door behind me. I put the keys on the tiny table near the door, making a mental note of where I've placed them because tonight is going to be a pain for me to look for them if I forget where I've put them.

Once I turn around, I realize the house is oddly completely silent.

The television is shut off and the lights are off other than the little bit of daylight shining into the house. Not a single noise can be heard.

Nina and Lenny are nowhere to be seen and I'm struck with confusion.

"Hello?" I shout. "Anyone home?"

Nina and I had been texting only moments ago and she'd mentioned she was home but at moment it just seems like I'd walked into an empty house.

She also wouldn't leave the door unlocked like this if she'd gone out for an errand.

It's unusual for her.
