Maisy was also a member of the fellowship. She wasn't like other hobbits who dreamed of being very respectable among hobbiton, no she was out with Merry and Pippin her two best friends on their wild adventures.

When Merry knocked on her door the day after Bilbo's party, he wasn't full of light, instead he had a bag on his shoulder.

"Merry? Where are you going?" Maisy asked. "It's not one of those pranks is it?"

Merry swallowed thickly. "No, no, nothing like that. I've come to tell you goodbye. I'm helping Frodo on a quest. "

Maisy's eyebrows perked up. "What kind of quest?"

"It's a very dangerous one. I wish for you to stay at home." Merry said seriously.

Maisy scoffed, and immediately grabbed her long term adventure bag. It was already filled with clothes, weapons, and a few personal possessions. She quickly changed into a white tunic and some trousers, and grabbed as much food from the pantry as she could. Her mother was at the market, so she wrote a quick farewell letter.

"You don't have to do this." Kerry protested. "Your family will miss you."

"Aye, but I don't think my parents should decide my fate." Maisy replied while shutting the door.  "Besides, I don't know what I would do without my best friend."

Merry swallowed and gave a small smile. Here he was, willing to tell the girl of his affections, and she had no idea of his feelings. However, Maisy also felt the same.

The journey was hard and perilous. Merry promised himself on the first day that he would protect her with his life. Pippin could easily see that  both of them were both in love with one another, but as much as he tried; Merry wouldn't take Pippins advice. He was show his affections in his own way.

The two of them almost had heart attacks on the final battle. Neither of them could find each other among the sea of bodies. Merry and Maisy didn't even know if Frodo and Sam were alive.

"Merry where are you?" Maisy whispered, close to a rock, tears rolling down Maisy's cheeks.

In a tent, Merry was being treated for some wounds. He awoke with a start, and panicked when he didn't see Maisy. He ran out and began to hunt for her.

"MAISY!" He yelled until his voice got hoarse. "WHERE ARE YOU!"

Maisy let out a cry of relief as she  saw the small figure across the field. Immediately she sprinted into Merry's arms in which they held each other for a long time.

It was on that day, that the two of them realized that they couldn't live without the other. After everyone was healed, Middle Earth celebrated their new King, Aragorn. After the sweet and tearful embraces, Gandalf awaited with several eagles to take the hobbits home.

When the hobbits landed in the village, Maisy had made up her mind that she would tell Merry how she felt.

After the hobbits parted their own ways, Maisy followed Merry to his home.

"Is there something I can help you with?" Merry said with a smile.

"I care for you." Maisy blurted. "Not in a way as friends but more than that. And I understand if you don't feel the same." Maisy said quickly while turning her back and walking towards the gate.

Merry ran to her, and kissed her so passionately, they were breathless.

"I was hoping you would feel the same." He murmured while moving some hair out of her eyes. "And if you were, I was going to get on one knee, and ask you to marry me." Merry said with a grin.

Maisy gasped as he pulled out the beautiful diamond that was shaped as a flower.

"My love, I love you infinitely, and I've realized that I need you beside me always, because I can't live without you." Merry spoke. "Maisy, will you be my wife?"

Maisy felt the tears run down her cheeks as she nodded with joy. Merry grinned and slipped the ring onto her finger.

"So,"he said once the two had recollected themselves. "You still think you would live in hobbiton? I mean now that we are married and will have dozens of babies, we won't be able to have respectable adventures."

"Nah." Maisy grinned. "You my love, are the biggest adventure of all."
