Thunderstorm

You had just finished eating dinner when the rain started to pour in the Shire. Quickly, you locked up the house and settled in your bed with a good book. Soon lighting and thunder flashed through the sky as you whimpered slightly.
Quickly, you buried yourself under the covers and shivered.
You hated thunderstorms. And lighting. It felt like it get so close that it could strike you any minute.

"Y/N?" A familiar voice called as he peeked through your door to see you huddled.

"M-merry? What are you doing here?" You whispered.

"I came to make sure you were okay. " he spoke with worry as you blushed and secretly aweeed in your head.

"I appreciate it Merry." You spoke with a smile that melted Merrys heart at once. "Come stay with me."

He eagerly jumped on the bed which caused you to giggle. Quickly you settled in time for the next clap of thunder and the next flash of lighting causing you to jump practically in Merrys lap and bury your head into the crook of his neck.

"Hey it's just storm. We're inside this hobbit hole that's part of the earth. It can't break." He reassured you with a smile. You nodded in agreement as you slowly began to climb off his lap.

"Sorry." You mumbled.

"Don't be sorry." He murmured as he kissed your cheek causing him to blush like a tomato.

"What was that for?"

He rubbed the back of his neck "I thought you knew that I huge grade school crush on you.... and I thought that if you didn't scream when I kissed your cheek it was a good sign." He laughed awkwardly. "Guess it didn't wor-"

You leapt into his lap and planted kisses all over his face, Giggling that he felt the same way. "Thank the Lord!" You laughed "I thought I was gonna have to make the first move."

Merry grinned as he kissed you again as you grinned with absolute glee.

Maybe you weren't afraid of thunderstorms anymore.
