chapter 2: rehearsal

Brads prov:

Am I blushing?!? Stop it!!!!! I look back at the boys when we pull up to a stop sign. Peaceful. I start to drive again and then I turn on the radio and I hear "drunk on you" by Luke Bryan and I stop and turn it up because I know Carrie likes that song. I look at Carrie and see a smile appear on her face. Then she starts singing "cotten wood fallin like snow in july sunset, riverside, four wheel drive and a tail light circle. Roll down the windows, turn it on up Poor a little crown in her Dixie cup get the party, started." Then she turns to the boys and all three of them start to sing the song and I just can't help but sing along smiling and watching the three of them singing and dancing in there seats. Soon we arrive at the stadium and I pull into a parking spot. "Are you guys ready?" I asked as I turned and looked at the boys. "Yup!!"  "Ok then! Let's go!" I said getting out of the car. Then I open Hucks door for him and he hops out. I shut his door then scooped him up and kissed him on the forehead. I walk to the front of the car with Huck on my hip and my phone in the other hand to wait for Carrie and Jasper.

Carries prov

I got out of the car and shut my door then I open the door for Jasper. He gets out and looks at me with puppy dog eyes.

C-"What's wrong sweety?"

J-"can you carry me pretty plz?"

C-" come here!"

I pick him up and swing him on my hip and smile at him. Jasper then lays his head on my shoulder and whispers " aunt Carrie.. I wish you were my real mommy."

C-" what? Why is that?"

J-"sometimes when daddy isn't home she locks Huck and I in our rooms when a guy comes over. And sometimes she gets really mad at us and screams bad things at us."

Omg did he just say that?! I have to tell brad. But how?!? I can't do it right now. Poor Huck and Jasper!

C-" we..we will talk about this in a little bi.. bit..okay?"

J-"okay aunt carrie. I love you!"

C-" love you too."

I can't believe it. How could Kim do this?!?

I felt a tear roll down my cheek but Jasper whipped it away and kissed my cheek. I walk to the front of the car where brad is standing and right away he knew something was wrong. I shook my head and began walking to the backdoor with brad right behind me. We get in the building and they escort us to a dressing room.  Brad sets down Huck and Huck jumps onto the sofa and lays down on it smiling. I go to set jasper down but he grips me tighter. "Hold me plz aunt Carrie" "okay jasper. I won't let go!" I said to jasper as I look up at brad and hes smiling so big! He has such a nice smile and he looks really good in that shirt..actually I mean really hot! Wait Carrie! Stop think about Brad! You are married for peets sake! All of a sudden there was knock at the door that interupts my thoughts. Brad opens it halfway and watch as his smile disappears quickly..
